Please tell me why and how then. It's a simple question I am asking. Too simple to just say "You're wrong!". I fanything you are showing me to be right. Is it fear stopping you telling me why I'm wrong?
Sorry, but I'm too scared to point out that this is a PSB music forum and therefore to suggest that the "the only people that could possibly be upset by them are the kind of people that shouldn't be on the forum anyway" is a little...well..., insane???
Then it should be obvious that this is the off topic section, or is it not? And whether it is a PSB fan or not, if somebody on here posts in support of murder and terror I would say they should be banned and have no right being here but that's just me maybe?
Maybe you don't understand the concept of "off topic"? Just a thought....

And so we can expect demonstrations on the streets of Britain against this can we? Surely the Muslim religion being used in such a murderous way would cause huge offense..........? Of course it won't happen. And this is a good example of what the world is up against.
Utter horror and disgrace and the killer took to extremism in Britain which is just as horrifying and shows that ignoring the problem does not work. But hey, we wouldn't want to offend anybody would we?

Well we should just pretend it isn't happening, I mean it works well doesn't it? It amazes me to see the people that come out of the woodwork and find it almost offensive to discuss these matters! I just don't understand it. Is this not something incredibly serious and something that needs something done about? How does silence help? I just don't get it? Why can we not discuss important things without people making the choice to read them, THE CHOICE, then saying how they don't like it! Don't read it then! Don't open the thread! It's not complicated. And this is the OFF TOPIC section of the forum so we have every right to discuss such things. Isn't it called FREEDOM? Or do people want that taken away just like the very people we are talking about.
Seriously, it stuns me some people's attitudes here, and I have said it before and will say it again, it is down to FEAR. Not fear of being offended themselves because that is fine from certain people of course (we know who of course), but fear of offending somebody else regardless of their murderous extreme views. And that is something I am completely and totally against as should everybody. And I won't pretend things are fine too when they clearly are not.

You miss the important point - there is no discussion, just the constant ramming of opinion down people's throats, then the inevitable arguments, personal insults and upset.

There is discussion, at least when it is allowed, either discussion or people saying we have no right for discussion.
And opinion is what forums are all about. If not they why would people post?

Discussion is something gentlemen do.
This has turned into a brownshirt street brawl.
In many countries it is against the law to publish incitement to hatred.
Something needs to change.

It should be against the law to publish incitement to hatred everywhere in the world but we know why it will never be.
That is one of my major points here, we are seeing this incitement to hatred on British streets and I find it incredibly offensive and it is something that needs to be stopped.
The thing on this forum and in general life now in this country that I hate is that people choose not to speak out and to ignore extremism which can only make the situation worse. And I am talking about people from all walks of life and with all beliefs. Like I have said many times it is because of fear.
As for discussion being a thing between gentlemen, try telling that to Palestine and Israel, the word gentleman could certainly never be used as far as they are concerned.
We have seen all kinds of sick propaganda and even violence defended here on this forum and the fact that so few people have the guts to speak up about it is scary as far as I am concerned. Some people may not like me but at least I have the balls to stick up for my opinion under some ridiculous attacks and accusations.
But hey, we live in a free society and if you don't want to get involved in something then quite simply don't. It's not complicated at the end of the day is it?

All you need to know about the situation is that one of the animals who beheaded Lee Rigby has been granted leave to appeal his conviction.
Even Perry Mason would struggle with that one.

A brilliant example of the scary and dangerous times we live in today. Fear wins again. Words cannot describe this country sometimes and these scandalous laws. Sad sad times.

I still completely fail to see the point of this and previous so called 'discussions' on similar topics. Unless you have been living in a cave on Mars we are all well aware of whats going on and I'm quite sure the vast majority have a view point on it. I also suspect the vast majority come on here for a little bit of restbite from all the doom and gloom on the news these days. What we seem to end up with is one or two members constantly posting the same viewpoints over and over again with the occasional dissentor being hounded out, hardly a discussion on anyones planet. Surely the fact that hardly anyone else is responding on here is a signal that no one who visits here wants to talk about it. It's got absolutely nothing to do with people ignoring the topic etc etc. These threads simply smack of trolling!

So why post and read then? If you don't like it then stay away. Hardly rocket science! Normally what happens here I have seen is that people often make posts a bit like yours which criticise previous discussions yet they didn't give an opinion at the time which I don't get. If you have an opinion then say it, don't hold it to go back to another time. What's the point in that?
And how is this trolling? Don't get it. These are proper topics that we have a right to talk about. Why is this such a problem to some people?

I'm sorry, but posting material that you know full well is going to cause trouble then saying 'don't look then' when people inevitably do get upset is about as close to trolling as I think you can get, and it is not on.
As I've said, what is being posted isn't discussion, it's the repeated forcing of individual views down other people's throats with full prior knowledge that arguments will ensue. Anyone with half a brain can all see that new threads are deliberately being created as soon as an old thread is closed to quickly and easily carry on where the closed one left off, with no regard for the reason why the old one was closed or respect for requests to discuss sensibly. We can also all see that it's happening to push boundaries and test patience. It's a silly game and it's getting boring.
We do not like one little bit to have to be heavy handed in the moderation of the forum, but we have to look after it in the best interests of everyone here, not just the few. We will not allow the forum to become a place where a tiny, tiny fraction of the membership can post what they like and then say 'tough!' to anyone upset by their posts. It spoils the forum, spoils the general atmosphere, and it's not fair on the other members. We've been there before in the past with other users on other topics and been forced to change the forum rules to put things right. We really don't want to have to do this again, but if people are going to carry on with no respect for our wishes and requests then we will have to.

What is being posted that will apparently cause trouble? I don't get it? Just because somebody may find something offensive when it clearly is not is not a good reason. And if somebody gets easily offended by opinions on matters such as we are talking about (quite how I have no idea) then surely they would be sensible enough to not bother reading the topic in the first place? I don't get all this obsession about closing these threads. It seems that fear really is abundant in these kind of discussions for some, I see no other reason that people can make such a problem about these topics. We are in an off topic section talking about off topic things. What is the problem? It hurts people's feelings because they don't like to read about some things? Then don't read it! And if you do then you are an idiot! Isn't that quite obvious! Or is it not idiotic to read something that you know offends you? I really think it is! Or will I be accused of offending somebody with that?
If we really are in a free society then let it be. If not then close it down and let the haters win.
I really am confused by people's views here! And most people have a say then disappear! If you disagree with my response then at least tell me and post why! Otherwise it is cowardly. Or am I offending somebody again? Jesus Christ this is really a joke! What is wrong with people?
