Indeed Behaviour is a splendid album but contrafactual reasoning and analysis is an important part of learning from history and should not be discarded.
N&C have themselves on numerous occasions said, in the FL-booklets, things like "why wasn't this on the album?", "this was written for the album but taken off at the last minute", "this should have been on the album", "why wasn't this a single" etc. If they can do it, so can we.
Neil also explicitly said about the Release era that we can put together our own album from all the FL-tracks.
So lay off Nickname for a while, give him a break.

I cannot agree with the premise of this topic. You're tinkering with what I consider to be the 2nd best album ever recorded, in order to add some ploddy tracks which were rightly palmed off to others.
As I said before, I enjoy contrafactual tinkering with tracklists but I would never go so far as Nickname has done here and using imaginary tracks. We don't have any Neil recordings of most of the Dusty/Liza-tracks. I tend to go by tracks that have been released or in, certain specific cases tracks that we know for sure have been recorded (like the Blue Weaver version of I Want a Lover). I have my own version of Behaviour which I believe is superior to the released one and it includes the extended mixes as well as Miserablism and DJ Culture and It Must be Obvious. I'm fond of the idea of double albums.
Well, If There Was Love beats almost anything on Behaviour, that goes for I Want You Now as well.
I Can't Say Goodnight is a marvelous track as well but I can't quite see Neil sing it on a PSB album.
Don't Drop Bombs is a super track (the middle part "Don't tell me about...." is amazing) but not really suited for the mood of Behaviour unless it's fitted next to So Hard and with a more sombre vocal. I'm not that fond of Liza's voice, not really Dusty's either, I'd rather hear Neil... and Patsy of course. They should've done What have I done to deserve this?, Results and Reputation all with her!
Losing My Mind is a killer! One of the classics in the catalogue of PSB covers.
So in conclusion: at least 4 tracks on Results are Behaviour-worthy. I'm on Nickname's side although with a different track list.
And talking about cover version, let's not forget the amazing PSB version of Twist In My Sobriety on Results! It's a classic too!
Sad too see Results reduced to a Liza Minnelli record. They should've never released it like that, it should've been released as a collaboration.

How on earth is that more 'commercial' than the original track listing? They only released Streets because Being boring scraped into the top twenty, so certainly an interesting choice to put on an album beforehand. And obviously, let's omit the best track...well, just because it's less 'commercial' than Bombalerina or Gazza's Fog on the Tyne.

If I had to wait two years for a new album, to find it had three cover versions on it, I would be really disappointed. I also think it would look like a band that was running out of ideas, and maybe even the beginning of the end.
Well, Nickname brings up an important and neglected fact: there were a lot of PSB tracks around in 1989-1990, between Introspective and Behaviour.

No, he doesn't. We all knew that already - remember the Further Listening releases?
nickname has a very limited idea of what represents 'good', 'commercial' PSB. He's trapped in the 1987 imperial phase and the new album will be yet another disappointment to him.

To Face The Truth is my all time number one PSB track. It's a Masterpiece. A MASTERPIECE!!! It's the track I suggest when you get the usual "PeT sHoP bOyS sOnGs AlL sOuNd ThE sAmE" idiots. For me, it's the best track on their best album.
We are just lucky they successfully shifted from commercial success (/over exposure) to a more eclectic and solid career.
If they didn't enjoy writing and creating so much we wouldn't be here today.
Behaviour might not of charted as well as previous efforts, but it certainly earned them a lot of respect, and added to their image for the better.
But then, how do you follow such a delicate and moody album like Behaviour? ... Well, you don't. You go on an extended break and return to the charts with pointy hats and a cleaner pop sound. Confusing? Perhaps. Maybe they should have been two bands.
PS: It's funny just how much guitar there is in the first 80 seconds of Behaviour. Love it.

Great song - quintessential "Behaviour", whereas those two aforementioned tracks are barely worthy of standing in its shadow.
