They've teased an unreleased version of Always on my mind on Instagram. After the unreleased version of Being boring, I wonder if we'll get a bonus disc with updated mixes of old songs.

Ignore any leaks? Ignore the inevitable promotional single? While running? With my eyes closed in a dark room alone? Naked? At a listening party? In the bath? On a roller coaster?
First reading a review then listening to any new thing coming. I wonder what the design will be. They did a lot of geometric things as well as a rather wise cover for hotspot.
This time what could it be ?
there was a lot blurry images recently with Smash and Hotspot the cover for Hotspot looks more like something from Nine Inch Nails than PSB

Neil has revealed in an interview lately that "Disco 5" will include all the remixes they had done for other artists (Noel Gallagher, Claptone, Wolfgang Tillmans, Paul Weller, Sleaford Mods). The album has been compiled already. It's just a question of logistics when to release it.

He did? When was that? It is great that they have this series to release ad-hoc stuff

Classic Pop from earlier this year when they were on the cover.

Hotspot is lovely and drab, so maybe we are due for something clean and bright, design-wise.

I’d quite like something that uses portrait photography. They haven’t really used shots of themselves which aren’t purposefully blurred or tiny on a non-compilation album cover since Behaviour.

You read my mind.

I think they’re too vain for that these days.

They moved from "Smash Hits" to "Factory Records" album covers long long ago, as you point out. It's unlikely they'll move back.

But, having said that, have you seen the cover of Vince Clarke's solo album? That's very striking. They could do something like that.

I hadn’t, but yes I guess that’s kind of what I was thinking. If the album is “more, autobiographical, looking back” something like that - or even old photography - would resonate. The Alternative inner sleeve portraits show them as pop’s older statesmen, even if it was 30 years ago.

I'd like to see a thick booklet with them posing at different places with the Impulse theme running through. Impulse must be the name of the album

I kind of appreciated the ‘title and artist credit in tiny lettering in the corner like a magazine photo caption’ thing and it was sort of nice that all the photography was theirs, but the photos were not very interesting and felt like they had very little consistent through-line except ‘WE ARE BERLIN’. Although the Burning the Heather sleeve was kind of great.
I like the hotspit sleeve pics, it brings some colors and a bit of warmth. The only thing i miss is the lyrics, the last studio album without lyrics was Very.

Looks like Annually will be packed with new album teasers...

https://shop.petshopboys.co.uk/gb/pet-s ... 24583.html

- An in-depth look at the new album (set for release in Spring 2024) including artwork, lyrics, and a diary of the creative process with commentary from PSB.
- A feature about the album cover photo-session.
- An interview with James Ford, producer of the album.

No CD though.. a few demos of tracks that ended up on the album would have been welcomed with open arms.. oh well.

Sounds to me as if they will feature on the cover this time... well, it's clearly not just a graphic treatment anyway.
