Neil: I know, let's release a limited run of 300 signed 7" glow in the dark green vinyl, and release it on a Tuesday at 2AM in North America.
Chris: Great idea, Neil. Nobody there will stand a chance of getting a copy and all of them will sell for thousands of pounds on eBay 6 hours later! Let's do it!

I like it but the mixing is off. And I'm assuming the instruments are orchestral plug-ins? Anyway, cool that PSB got this extra tidbit off of their hard work. Of course it adds to their legacy.

Reading the comments under the YouTube trailer for this one made me cringe: Most viewers are getting ready for a really good bit of gruesome fun...
I always loved horror and thrillers, don't get me wrong. But this particular sort of content is turning real-life pain and suffering into entertainment, without any regards for the (real) victims, and with a tendancy to turn (real) murederers into tragic figures we need to understand better... To me this is a problem. Maybe this shouldn't be entertainment.
Watching these, either we are so desensitized we forget it actually happened to real people, or, worse, the "True Story" aspect adds to the frisson, which says even darker things about human nature.
I don't know what saddens me the most : the cynicism of the media who produce these contents, or the fact that they invariably gain a huge audience, proving the platforms are right, economically speaking, to produce ever more.
I love the PSB, and I know they have a strong sense of ethics. Why they thought it was ok to take part in this, I don't know, but I must say I'm really surprised and to be honest, quite disappointed to find them here.
I totally agree. It's very very disappointing they've let themselves in with this. We can merge this thread with the Missteps-thread.

I can understand they might of seen S2 of monster and thought it was trendy. Even though Lyle and Erik Menendez weren't gay, season 2 was constantly angling for that audience, thirst traps galore, and even if the show was entertaining the invented content was tatty, and the brothers are still in prison.
And with S3, the story itself is relating to the impact of religion on someones upbringing and outlook. Fair. And it's a distant-type of remix, so it's not so bad. I can forgive, but only assuming they didn't see the show before accepting.
Because the show is an absolute mess. Fine acting in parts, yes. But the true monsters are the audience who suck it all up as gospel, when the whole thing is demonstrably largely fabricated. Ed didn't have a girlfriend who gleefully accepted him - that was the dumb director and writer. Ed was a loner, and lived a depressed life, alone and cold. There is no historical knowledge of him being functional and merely "misunderstood". And don't get me started on the odd nazi stuff the director indulged in.

I went to a lecture of sorts on serial killers with my daughters who were mad into it. Apparently, it is women who mostly engage with this stuff (even the female lecturer and expert admitted this). It's somewhat engaging, I guess, but not something I feel inclined to delve deeper into, so will give this Netflix show (and others) a miss.
As far as PSB goes, I figure it's their call on how their songs are used, their prerogative, so it doesn't especially trouble me. The exposure of their music to broader audiences is welcomed.

The current daily Youtube views of the Boys jumped to 2,903,454 views, a figure that many 80s acts (including the Boys) other than well-known icons may only dream of. These figures are usually reserved for the biggest entertainers of their current times. It is really an admirable number as their regular figure was around 400 K.
West End girls and It's a sin each jumped over to a figure above 600K while the views of Domino dancing, GW, WHIDTD and Always on my mind all doubled or tripled.
I am sure there is a surge in Spotify as well but that has not translated into sales yet in iTunes etc. Only It's a sin is in top 50 in several countries.
