Curious that you'd replace the epic album version of Always On My Mind with the, in my opinion, slightly underwhelming 12" mix. It took me ages to work out what bothered me about that version, and I eventually realised it was the fact that it skips the climax of the 7" version - the final repeat of the verse with the brass riff underneath it. It's like if It's A Sin cut straight from the middle eight to the instrumental outro. I don't mind it but I certainly wouldn't say it was one of their best 12" versions - always seemed a bit thrown together to me.

Honestly putting the Phil Harding Remix on the album would've slapped, it was basically the prototype for the album version anyway.

I had to admit I really like the last part with the voice of Joss Ackland. I think it gives a more powerful feeling at the end, I admit in the middle it skips the climax but I think it is even worse in the version of Introspective.
It works better for an extended version more than a remix version that I think the Introspective version really is.

100% this. Especially the "all the fans know....." What a load of crap. I am so glad to say that 'nickname' doesn't speak for me. Introspective is great as it is.

It's always surprised me that they've never used the other riff when playing the song live, it's always the brass riff. Maybe because Chris wrote the brass riff and Phil Harding or Ian Curnow likely wrote the other one?

"In My House" is essential.
Even when I was a kid it was clear that the bonkers dark intermission was the "introspective" underbelly to an otherwise traditional love song.
