Imagine if we get to hear a truly obscure track at these shows. I’m thinking, a song from deep in the PSB vaults that was earmarked as a future B side or album track but never got to see the light of day.
I’m sure there will be one or two tracks that definitely qualify as Obscure. Those suggesting In The Club Or In The Queue might find themselves rewarded. Equally a PSB version of Occupy Your Mind or Daydreaming or similar would hit the spot.
I wasn’t clear … I meant something that none of us have ever heard of … a true mystery track. Unlikely I know but would be amazing.
you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional

Interesting idea. Would a brand new single qualify as “obscure”? Image

Can someone make a setlist of all the album tracks that are good and could be played?

I think the bulk of that category will make-up the setlist with maybe half a dozen b-sides but I don't expect many more obscurities.

Which is good because the first five records have numerous non-singles of high quality.

Ha ha, think I'd pay £1,000 for a ticket if they played that.

It’s pretty good!

1. Will‑O‑The‑Wisp
2. An Open Mind
3. Shameless
4. Miserablism
5. Radiophonic
6. The Resurrectionist
7. Bet She’s Not Your Girlfriend
8. Delusions of Grandeur
9. Forever in Love
10. Always
11. Jack the Lad
12. A New Life
13. After the Event
14. I Didn’t Get Where I Am Today
15. The End of the World
16. The Way It Used to Be
17. Your Funny Uncle
18. One Thing Leads to Another
19. Up Against It
20. Fugitive
21. I Want a Lover
22. Tonight Is Forever

Encore:
23. This Must Be the Place I Waited Years to Leave
24. I Want to Wake Up
25. Decide

Of these IIRC This Must Be The Place, I Want A Lover, 2nite is forever, Funny Uncle, The Way It Used to Be and Shameless have been performed before.

And so has Fugitive. And literally none of us were there back in 1985 to hear I Want A Lover. And we’ve established that the fact they’ve played a track before won’t influence the likelihood of it being played in April.

Let's be realistic. Neil will be 72 next year. Do you think there's a chance he'll perform I want a lover or Bet she's not your girlfriend? Come on. No way. After an Elysium album, it's hard to imagine such light, youthful songs.

It's a set of excellent tracks, but I don't understand what people see in A New Life or Jack the Lad.
Love comes quickly, but is a catastrophe and a bourgeois construct etc.

OMG!!! I’d give ANYTHING to hear them play ITCOITQ, OYM or Daydreaming!! If they played their versions of some of the songs they wrote for Liza and Dusty that would awesome!! Imagine if they started with ‘Bubadubadub…dum’

I’ll be honest..having been a fan since West End girls ‘86, I’d rather the setlist be tilted towards b-sides and album tracks covering Please and Actually as those were the tracks that made me fall in love with PSB. That won’t happen but in my own selfish world that’s what I’d love:

My perfect setlist would have to include these:

A man could get arrested
That’s my impression
Was that what it was?
Jack the lad
I want a lover
You know where you went wrong
A new life
I want a dog
I want to wake up
Hit Music
Don Juan
One of the Crowd
It must be obvious
Bet she’s not your girlfriend
Miserablism
I want you now
If there was love
I can’t say goodnight
In private
Occupy your mind
Daydreaming
I’m not scared (Eighth Wonder version)
Between two islands
Shameless / One in a million (medley)
Its taken me all of my life to find you

Thanks Dog, I wondered when someone was going to cave and do this! As far as I'm concerned, these are the two most important points on the list and everything else is gravy!

It'll be fascinating to see how many of these get picked.
For your own good, call me tonight.

Press release did say that there would be "many songs never performed live before", not that it would only consist of that. I think the only fixed therm is that they will not be singles. But with the vague "fan favourite songs" they could virtually play anything they consider.
