The quality of the soundtrack is no good.
Did you saw the movie with the PSB score on??...
Did you saw the movie without it??...

I am a big PSB fan but I don't like it. I think they could do much better. Anyway, it's an opinion.

I'd say chances of the former are actually greater!

I´ve seen the movie without PSB´s music. I´ll be waiting for the PSB version to be released.

Ridiculous suggestion.

'Obscure electro soundtrack to 80 year old film wins Oscar'

Not going to happen.

I did a home-made version of the movie with the new score...believe me, the things are not the same once you hear/see them that way...;)

Exactly. to paraphrase what I said before -- it's kind of pointless having a score to a film but not being able to see the film with the score attached.

Okay, well if its a question of wording:

Ridiculous suggestion.

'Obscure electro soundtrack to 80 year old film nominated for Oscar'

Not going to happen.

so, what do you think about a nomination for "best song" for a track sung in spanish by an unknown artist from an argentinean low-production movie?

Ridiculous!! that´s what everybody said...

and you know what?? It got a nomination...
and you know what?? It won the 2005 Oscar for Best Song...

so, let the Academy members say 'yes' or 'no'...if only you could know the 'crapy' things sent every year "for your consideration" to the Academy...
(and I´m not saying the Potemking score is crap, I think it´s a masterpiece...)

Considering they were robbed of the nomination for 'It couldn't happen here', I think they could well receive a compensation award for this.

Yes but you are missing the most important point - this film is 80 years old and is not eligible to be considered for the Academy Awards 05/06.

Its impossible for them to be nominated.

So thats is why its a ridiculous suggestion.
