Flamboyant wasn't good enough to be a huge hit. The lyrics were a massive let down and using a production line of an one hit wonder of 18 months ago wasn't a good idea. Miracles deserved to be massive but after years of destroying their hit potential by substandard releases and destroying their image, noone cared.

I think Miracles was a good single (it was top ten, selling the first week more than Enrique Iglesias single, for example).

But they haven't done a HUGE single for ages (talking in quality terms, not in commercial terms). I still thinking PSB haven't could reach the quality of songs like It's a sin, Westend Girls or Left to my own devices).

Psb haven't yet bothered to play "Miracles" live and that's saying a lot.
Real hit single material should be the highlight of a show like "Always on my mind" or "Go west". They should ask themselves "Can this be played as an encore fo a show?" if they want another hit.

People have certain expectations on a Psb single, how it should sound like, and Psb they haven't played by the rules in recent years, just like Kylie didn't in the 90's.

They used to keep their darker moody side to the album and bonus tracks, until "Bilingual". That has never been a recipe fo success.

I think "Flamboyant" was a move in the right direction, just not good enough.
Even though radio isn't doing Psb any favours these days, they still recognize a hit single when they hear one.

Neil would struggle to sing Miracles live to be honest and I don't think PSB had a major influence over the track...

well, New York city boy being one exception to the rule, AND their biggest hit in recent ears...Yes I'm sticking to my story, I'd say there's something dark and heavy about most of the post Very singles, not exactly the stuff that makes people turn their radios up, start dancing and clapping hands.

The only 'dark' PSB single I can think of post-Very is I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more.

No I think its a very hopeful song, an optimistic one at that.

Red Letter Day is a cheesy disco stomper in a major, the Radio Edit of which was produced by Motiv8. There's nothing dark and heavy about it whatsoever.

The single version is pretty light and fluffy, the album version is a little darker.

yeah it is fluffy, but still has a sad undertone.
