I didn't see any professional recording gear in play - no cameras at least.

I'd be amazed if it did. This is a special event for superfans. It's niche by nature. As Neil said in that Guardian interview, if they played the same set in the Berlin Arena (sorry, sponsor, you don't pay me for your product placement), then half the place would go to the bar. I was a little perturbed by how many people I saw leaving when they played I Dream of a Better Tomorrow.
Call yourself a fan but don't stick around for a brand new unheard song?!
I got a feeling not everyone was there for the right reasons.
