I think that's a mistake on the official site as it's Friday evening when they do their reviews etc on Newsnight...????

Nope, just watched my recording of it from last night. He wasn't on for long, just giving his opinion that Johnny Depp was channelling David Bowie in the film and that he didn't think that the humour of the stage show really comes through on film.

The U.S. "gay cable channel" Logo has just announced airtimes (subject to change, Eastern Standard Time, eastern cable feed) for Pet Shop Boys: A Life in Pop:

* Saturday, March 15 - 8:00 p.m.
* Thursday, March 20 - 8:00 p.m.
* Saturday, March 22 - 11:00 a.m.
* Sunday, March 23 - 12:00 noon

Based on the one-hour time slot devoted to it in the schedule, it's apparently the "short version" that first aired on U.K. television in 2006 (though possibly trimmed even further to accommodate the greater amount of time generally devoted to advetisements on U.S. television).

It's a really lame "gay" cable channel that could be so much better. They'll take a 90 minute movie and stretch it to 3 hours, and pack it with so many ads and promos every ten minutes that I find it unwatchable. The rest of the programming is really unfunny standup comedy you're supposed to think funny because you're gay. uh no. Just mediocre.

I'll DVR "A Life in Pop" tonight, but knowing Logo, I'll be lucky to get 30 minutes of PSB out of it. At least i can FF through the ads and promos. Pity though!

Actually, I like the documentaries and music videos that Logo airs. You get to see a lot of good stuff that other cable channels won't touch. But you're absolutely right about all the commercials. They do get rather annoying. The competing U.S. "gay cable channel," Here, being a "premium" channel (you have to pay more for it) avoids the commercials, but, with a few exceptions (such as some of the movies), I personally don't find the programming as interesting and enjoyable.
