Once broadcast, you can watch it again up to seven days later using the BBC's iplayer - http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/. Just search 'pop britannia'. Handy for people unable to get regular BBC TV me thinks.
iPlayer only works in the UK. Grr!

Nope, just watched my recording of it from last night. He wasn't on for long, just giving his opinion that Johnny Depp was channelling David Bowie in the film and that he didn't think that the humour of the stage show really comes through on film.

29 february, 21:00, Channel 4: New Heroes of Comedy
Tonight's episode of New Heroes of Comedy takes a fascinating journey into the past, present and future of Matt Lucas and David Walliams. It wasn't always like this, years of obscurity and failure were endured before fame finally came knocking. But just how did two middle class suburban kids become so successful? With shared childhood experiences comprising everything from weight problems and dressing up to premature baldness, sexual identity issues and watching lots of Dick Emery, a chance meeting at the National Youth Theatre brought them together and created a lifelong friendship.
Tonight, in the second of C4's profile series, the duo's long road to fame is charted, along with contributions from friends, colleagues and admirers, including Bob Mortimer, Charlie Higson, Russell Brand, Alex James, The Pet Shop Boys and David Tennant.

The U.S. "gay cable channel" Logo has just announced airtimes (subject to change, Eastern Standard Time, eastern cable feed) for Pet Shop Boys: A Life in Pop:
  • * Saturday, March 15 - 8:00 p.m.
    * Thursday, March 20 - 8:00 p.m.
    * Saturday, March 22 - 11:00 a.m.
    * Sunday, March 23 - 12:00 noon
Based on the one-hour time slot devoted to it in the schedule, it's apparently the "short version" that first aired on U.K. television in 2006 (though possibly trimmed even further to accommodate the greater amount of time generally devoted to advetisements on U.S. television).

What type of channel is that? 8) I want something like that here too.

It's a really lame "gay" cable channel that could be so much better. They'll take a 90 minute movie and stretch it to 3 hours, and pack it with so many ads and promos every ten minutes that I find it unwatchable. The rest of the programming is really unfunny standup comedy you're supposed to think funny because you're gay. uh no. Just mediocre.

I'll DVR "A Life in Pop" tonight, but knowing Logo, I'll be lucky to get 30 minutes of PSB out of it. At least i can FF through the ads and promos. Pity though!

Actually, I like the documentaries and music videos that Logo airs. You get to see a lot of good stuff that other cable channels won't touch. But you're absolutely right about all the commercials. They do get rather annoying. The competing U.S. "gay cable channel," Here, being a "premium" channel (you have to pay more for it) avoids the commercials, but, with a few exceptions (such as some of the movies), I personally don't find the programming as interesting and enjoyable.

Liza in new "South Bank Show" episode

4 may, ITV:
The South Bank Show‘s season continues with a profile of one of the most successful entertainers of the modern age, Liza Minnelli. Melvyn Bragg interviews Liza Minnelli at the London Coliseum as she prepares for her forthcoming UK tour, with exclusive footage filmed in Florida of the show she will be bringing to Britain, performing some of her most iconic songs.
The South Bank Show also examines Liza Minnelli's unique relationship with the British - she has influenced many of our performers from Freddy Mercury to punk and the Pet Shop Boys. She lived briefly on the Kings Road in London with her mother as a teenager and there is scintillating archive of their iconic performance together, in 1964 at the London Palladium.
