I'm sorry but business studies IS a weak degree and is easier to get an A in than ANY social science A level, you may not like this but this is empirically true. As a subject it does not teach you to think critically in any way shape or form. You mau have studied economics, psycholgy and politics but this will not have been at the same level as somone specialising in these subjects. Business studies does not have its own epistemological or ontological outlook given that it is a hotch potch of different subjects - you have admitted this. There was some attempt in the 80s to radicalise by theorists including Michael Bolton who drew on economics, sociology and literary theory. ....but this died a death as most business studies 'academics' were/are only interested in the bottom line - how do we cut costs and raise profits - and not genuine academic debate, they did not want to question the 'consensus' paradigms pushed by the 'leading' management schools -see the managerial revolution- since the 70s.

please don't patronise me about the contents of my business course, I may not have studied thematic analysis but what I did learn was economics, political science, accounting, psychology et al. Don't bring Drico in to this he doesn't bring in pathetic class arguments into these debates. Re education I went to a former Poly on the basis it was one of the best in the country for what I wanted to study, whereas I had an offer from Oxford (not Brookes) for another course and turned it down, with hindsight I was wrong of course but there you go. Subsequent to that I did undertook post graduate qualifications with one of the Russell group, their standards were way below the former poly. When they assessed teaching standards years ago they found many of the Russell group were the worst for fiddling degree classifications, and puffing up standards, unusual for a bunch of lefty wing academics.[/quote]

It won't be long before Britain is flooded again, and it's nothing to do with racism, it's just quite simply that we do not have the space and resources for another huge wave of immigration (which will happen for sure). And it is a good point, if Romania is so great why are so many people over here selling the big issue?
We will see soon enough but it will be too late by then.
