Yeah that's true. I saw a couple of games while in Dublin last year and the standard of play surprised me. It seems that English clubs are now starting to notice the talent on offer and bargains can be had.
I was talking to a Shelbourne fan about Hoolahan and he said that he's one of the best players that had played for them in recent years and we should enjoy him while we can. He doesn't have a great deal of pace but his ball control, flair and vision is the best i've seen in a Blackpool player since Trevor Sinclair.

While it should be noted that we are talking about Liverpool (I live in Manchester), I agree with Niall. Liverpool within Liverpool is very similiar to the situation of Utd in Manchester. Everyone other than Utd fans knows that City are the main team within Manchester and Utd fans are too half-witted and self obsessed about their team to admit it because they've won loads and can't see the wider picture. Liverpool fans suffer the same due to the success they've had and because they think they are football giants. Recent success in Europe and the FA Cup doesn't hide the fact that Liverpool haven't come anywhere near to winning the league since 1990. So really, Liverpool are worse than Utd in that respect as they have no excuse for their ignorance.

As for Arab investment, I'd be seriously worried if I were a genuine Liverpool fan. I don't understand what you mean here. In winning the European Cup, Benitez has continued one of the fine traditions of the most successful club in British football history.

Liverpool and Manchester United are far bigger than their nearest rivals. Of coure you will see plenty of Everton and City shirts in their respective cities, you will also see plenty of Liverpool and United shirts.

The reason they are so well supported outside of their citites is because they are so successful. Everton and Man City have struggled for a long time now. Everton have won a cup and are looking like a half decent side but spent many years fighting relegation and Man City have just clawed their way back from division 2.

Knocking a clubs support that comes from outside the city is usually down to envy and jealousy. Every club would love the support that Liverpool and United get. They would also love the history of success they have gained.

I still hate the fu*kin lot of them though

Well in Manchester, City definitely have more fans and while I'm not doubting that there aren't Utd fans in Manchester most the Utd fans I know from the city rarely attend. There are a lot of Utd fans in Salford but technically that's a city in it's own right.
