Broken Britain
Re: Broken Britain
I am in agreement with Drico. This thread is now more or less solely for commenting on Muslims, Islam and race and even with allegedly valid arguments, it has become (if it ever wasn't) a vicious circle of poison that very, very few on the forum are actually participating in. We can read stories for ourselves in the press and online and I don't think posting them up here ad nauseum has much point.
I think the thread had about had its run. If things continue to run in the same vein then I think we will be closing it.

The video is an example of what is happening today in Britain. But hey, as long as it's peaceful it's fine right? NO IT IS NOT.
comment on what, Anjem Chaudhary's misinterpretation of the Ambrahamic covenant, the woman in the niqab talking shit or even p diddy's appearance at 2:40?
I'd rather talk about your explicit extrapolation of some Muslims to all muslims...
Jimmy Saville was a paedophile as was rolf harris, all white men in their 80s are paedophiles, alive or dead.

Re: Broken Britain
Let's make something quite clear here, nobody is saying that all Muslims hold extreme views such as the murderers the other day, do we really need to make a point of this? Really? Isn't it plainly obvious? What are you talking about? I have never and will never say such ridiculous things. You really are making a big effort to put words into my mouth, aren't you?raggatwin wrote:JSDOUVRES wrote:Would Drico or raggatwin like to comment on any of the above post's or is it now time for you to hide?

Trying to change the subject now? So easy to accuse isn't it? Not so easy to back yourself up though. Ridiculous.raggatwin wrote:'nobody is saying', do you speak for others, are you a spokesman?

And what claims might that be then? The putting words into my mouth claims?raggatwin wrote:lol. I think both our learned moderator and I have answered your claims....
Like I said, it's so easy to accuse, but impossible to back up lies and fantasy.
Nobody on this forum has ever said all Muslims are bad or all old men are peadophiles have they? Isn't that just you putting words into people's mouths in order to silence them for topics you feel "uncomfortable" about? I believe it is. And as far as I'm concerned calling somebody racist is as bad as racism itself. But it is so easy to do isn't it?

Close it! In my opinion it does not serve a purpose. There are many other forums for people who want to debate this type of topics. This site is supposed to be about music. This thread actually makes me sick everytime i see it in the list of active topics.StevePSB wrote:I am in agreement with Drico. Agreed here. I was hoping that a new Erasure album would come out soon so JSDOUVRES would have something else to grabble with his mighty intellect, but I'm losing my patience.dynamobjornen wrote:Close it! This is the off-topic section though; ergo it contains non-Pet Shop Boys topics.dynamobjornen wrote:Close it! In my opinion it does not serve a purpose. As for the thread itself, I think that an attempt to behead a British soldier on the streets of London is pretty much the exemplar of 'Broken Britain'. If people don't like to consider the reality of life in Britain in 2013, then perhaps the Word Whomp game can be revived from its lexical slumber.

Re: Broken Britain
Personally I've got no problem with the continued existence of this topic.
It helps keep all similarly themed potential topics in the one place and people know by now what they're getting themselves into if they open it.
Rightly or wrongly, I credit the average PSB fan with more intelligence than most Internet users, so appreciate the (potentially) informative discussion.
