And they Neil said for the second time that it is an album "we are very proud of".

In my mind I can actually hear Chris follow that up by saying "Yeah on second thoughts I wouldn't bother buying it."

Exactly. It would be good for someone to compile their statements about each album, including anything they've said years afterwards. My impression is that they are particularly supportive of their less successful albums in the Further Listening booklets, which again makes sense from an artistic and commercial perspective.

I suppose the ultimate test is Disco 2 - I remember the quote about it being good to drive to, which is a fairly underwhelming compliment but still better than the album deserves.

Yes, I'm agree.

They feel more confortable with the ballads but they have been better with their uptempo/anthemic pop songs. They don't like doing that kind of songs nowadays. The triology went into a dance concept more than a pop concept because Stuart Price wanted to follow that way. The last time they created anthemic pop songs was with The Sodom and Gomorrah Show, Integral and maybe the single version of All Over The World. More than 10 years ago.

I wish it could be better than Elysium and Release. Listening to the kind of music instruments were planned for the album, it sounds to me like Actually (ex: It Couldn't Happen Here, King's Cross). For me, King's Cross is the best ballad they have ever made.

I can also hear the backing singers on the 2 studio versions. Anyway, along with the "strings on every track", I'm also excited that PSB have brought back backing singers! Fun.

And they definitely bring a bit of warmth to the track ... look forward to hearing more of their work on the album.

I wonder if they will make a cameo appearance at the ROH shows (or any future Dreamworld shows for that matter)
