Looking forward to this

Fiancee and I went to see "The Eagle" last night. It's about a Roman soldier who travels up to Scotland in search of the Golden Standard that his father lost 20 years ago when his entire legion was slaughtered by the native tribes. It starts off good but then deteriorates into the biggest pile of unbelievable clichéd crap imaginable!
i.e The tribe that has the standard are a bunch of willowy, near naked mohicans, who are incredibly adept at running faster than horses and do the Maori Haka before getting pissed on the beach!

As my fiancee so eloquently put it, "The should have subtitled the film The last of the Glaswegians ...."

Just watched the Basket Case trilogy, The best worse horror film I've ever seen! Had me in stitches!! Highly recommended!

Alpha Papa (Alan Partridge) is ace. The Heat is crap (funny in places) and Paranormal Activity 4 is just utter dross.

I've recently seen:

Kick Ass 2, on top form and comparable with the original. Great fun and very feel good, also very violent, Jim Carey has slated it for it's violence and he is in it.

Alpha Papa, again a must watch, very silly, very entertaining. If you haven't seen Alan Partridge before it may take you a while to get into his humour, but it's very good.

The World's End, very much in the same vein as Shaun of the Dead (a good thing). The characters must complete their pub crawl despite the alien robot invasion. Nothing will stand in their way!

saw elysium and I thought it rocked. that dude from district 9 was in it, the guy who played the sort of bookish UN authority...here he is a really awesome badass cant believe its the same guy. anyways love these futuristic movies. lots of eye candy. seemed fairly plausible regarding the earth in the future.

also, been trying to get my hands on a TV series called generation war or as known in europe as Unsere Mutter, unsere Vater. its looks fantastic.
big WW2 fan and its I guess like the US TV series band of brothers only its germans instead of americans.

"Behind The Candlabra" was on HBO here, and pretty amazing. Liberace meets "Boogie Nights". Michael Douglas and Matt Damon were both superb. What a strange interesting life and career. Fine movie, never dull.
