It’s weird. The physical sales chart you’re looking at about 3000 sales to get to number one and about six to get to number 40. Something has gone awry.

Just got an email from Amazon saying mine is arriving today (6th). Better than the 19th!

Looks like it could be something to do with the UK Official Chart rules.
All other criteria appears to have been met apart from where it states: 'One promotional video for lead track only'

Guessing that Pet Shop Boys - Schlager-Hitparade (Deutsches Demo) [Official Video] might have prevented another number one smash in the UK Official Physical Singles Chart and also the Sales Chart.

Obviously Chris was feeling frivolous and decided to write off the chart placing to showcase his vocal delivery and cinematographic skills.

Oh dear, how frightfully unprofessional.

I’m not up on chart rules, but I guess the logic would be that because video streams count towards the chart, an act would therefore only be allowed one video per single. But it’s not my theory and I’m not sure.

It’s not as though it would have been troubling the top 40 anyway.

OK but, just to labour the point, surely that would only exclude it from charting in the streaming and overall charts, not the physical or sales ones, which by definition don't include streams of the videos (or audio)?

Still not in the physical charts. Loneliness, Bohemia and dancing star still are. But Feel? Nowhere! What’s happened? Even The P*****s with the god awful Xmas song is in the charts and it’s October!!

It's not really clear if that means only the lead track can have a video, or the lead track can only have one video. (Like if Chris had done a silly Feel video that would make sense. )

As mentioned above - the only thing I can see that might break the rules is the fact that there were two promotional videos for songs on the CD single release:

Pet Shop Boys - Schlager-Hitparade (Deutsches Demo) [Official Video]
Pet Shop Boys - Feel (Official Video)

As a matter of urgency I have emailed chartrules@officialcharts.com to clarify and await a response

Some of the chart rules

If the presence of a second video precludes it from the single chart, would it also exclude it from the album chart? Would it be eligible there, and has anyone checked? I would do myself but I'll leave it to the experts to do it better and quicker than me.
