First of all, regarding PopArt. I think thats their best cover. The boxed cd's and 3 LP's look fantastic, yet it's so minimal.

It wont matter to ardent fans but it will to casuals. A casual fan will pick that cd up and put it down when they realise that they have never heard of 90% of the tracks on cd2.

If they look at the track listing and recognise at least one title for every 2 or 3 tracks, they might buy it.[/quote]

I liked the PopArt sleeve. I also liked the non-chronological arrangement of the songs.

I think many people have heard "Always". Some will remember a few other ones like "Run To The Sun", "Fingers And Thumbs", "In My Arms", "Solsbury Hill", and "Breathe". These are the most memorable to the casual listener. I'm not saying that droves of the general public have heard these, but they are the most well-known (chartwise) and are pop tunes of the highest order. Also, I wouldn't underestimate the power of nostalgia. Many people who have bought Pop! (600,000 units worth), may have their interest piqued or rekindled with this. It *is* a fantastic package (in addition to the remix one).

It's no secret that Erasure's chart peaks have diminished since Pop!, but so have PSB's. Perhaps a mixing of the two eras helped PopArt.

I would have preferred a couple of new songs on it, though. We'll see if Jeremy Wheatley can better "Always" with his new mix - the greatest pop song ever written, in my humble opinion.

If this had been a question, instead of a statement, you would have got away with making the "Erasure Dont Deserve a Brit Outstanding Achievement" bit look like you still didnt agree with it. As it is presented here as a statement, the quotation is irrelevant and suggests that you agree with me. I had a feeling you did anyway.

I'm quite upset that a contest exists, PSB aren't in the same league, it's like conference football against premier league.

Some of the PM's i received were absolutely disgusting. Why my parents are brought into such discussions, i simply don't know but the said poster has mentioned my mum on the forum before, so i shouldn't have been too surprised. Still, maybe it was the carers day off.
