Ugh, I was hoping it was the breakfast show at least, but guess it's only the second single, so should have expected it. Thought we'd have it at 8am ish. But those mid morning shows make you wait ages.

Ah well, no listen from me, I can't stand Radio 2 at the best of times. Already had to suffer Zoe Ball this year so I'll just refresh twitter until I see it's out.

Not really, they tell the streaming sites what time and then Radio 2 work around that. That happens a lot with first plays, with much bigger artists. Usually breakfast show and around 8am though, so I'm not saying it will happen, but it's not exactly difficult or requiring a lot of coordination.

It doesn't always work. I've been streaming and listening for a good 10 -20 mins sometimes and then they play on the radio.

We'll soon know, if it's not out at midnight or 8am ish UK time then it's probably being planned for around the first play.

Either way, I've lost interest for today, tomorrow morning is fine and will be nice to have a couple of new songs (I won't be listening to the single I don't think, I will leave for the album and just enjoy the b sides)

They can that effectively coordinate with all the sites? Beatport, Apple, Spotify, Amazon… seems unlikely.

They don't need to coordinate with them. They just specify their release time, just like they do with a release date. It's just like an embargo, not some little old lady sat ringing them all and shouting go go go. It's literally giving them files with a "release everywhere at xx UK time" instruction. It clearly already has such an instruction otherwise it would be out in the likes of Australia and New Zealand already.

It's not exact and Radio can screw it up, as with Kylie's first single from Disco. They had the first play and said "which is out everywhere now" when it has already been out 10 mins before he played it. But that's live radio for you.

I love how you say it's unlikely, when in actual fact it has happened, and still happens, regularly. Like I said, it might just come out in the morning but it's very cute you think they coordinate rather than just the label giving a release date and time. Just like they did with Loneliness. Oh, no, sorry they can't have done, I must have dreamt it with it being so unlikely.

who do you think programs that “instruction” into their various systems? I’d imagine a human. Probably not a “little old lady” like you suggest, but perhaps. As someone who works in IT and has for 30 years, these are the nuances that often get lost or ignored. I’m sure it will be out there somewhere before 8am on some sites and after 8am on others.

Aww, bless you, 30 years, you're ready for pasture and to leave it to people who can keep up. That instruction is put in by a human (though certainly not at the streamers side and is very much automated - and mistakes do happen) and as I very very clearly said earlier, it may very well be our at the bog standard midnight or 8am UK time. Many streaming sites f*** up regularly and release early or too many episodes, and either fix it or don't. It's all guess work what time they are releasing, but if their label have planned it round a first play, then adding an instruction is not difficult. Some sites may miss it some may get it wrong, cool. They tried.

Or it could be out globally in a few hours. Despite what your tiny little brain thinks, I have never said that is what they are doing, for all I know it will be out midnight, or they might have scheduled a time.

But Madonna,Taylor Swift, Adele, Kylie have all had global simultaneous releases at a set time when album/tickets are out for pre order or coordinated with a big interview. Adding that tiny line of code really isn't that tricky just like any embargoed news story too. Surely a veteran like you would know that.

I agree with you about the c*** forum though, [personal insult removed by forum admin] luckily the block feature works pretty well and you can piss in the wind with any further replies, I won't see them. Think my experiment in this cess pit is at an end anyway, we can agree about just how horrible this place is.

On a more serious note, still holding out for a midnight release - keeping one eye open until 0:01 in case it drops so I can then not sleep until 3AM listening to some new PSB.

By midnight EST i expect it will be on the internet somewhere… despite what the kind and friendly fellow fan above thinks.

We have been waiting. Since the single was announced on the 20th. <Shrug>
