Still 6 points clear of 3rd with much better GD :)

...also going to the Newcastle game Sat 6th (F A Cup). It's odd we got them as our last Home game in the Prem was Newcastle...they put the final nail in the coffin last term, should be interesting. Last season we were in Newcastle's spot when we played & beat Reading in the cup who were in our position then...don't want a replay as that would cancel our Sky game against Leicester.

14,400-odd at the Keepmoat. Biggest Rovers crowd since the 70's!

A cracking day, cracking game, cracking atmosphere and cracking result. I'm going to love our new home. :)

FA Cup R3

Birmingham 2 V Newcastle 2

Not the result I wanted now having to play another game, so Leicester on the 19th Jan now off.

Player sent off, 2 of our best players injured one for months...Cup hurts the League, again :grumble:

Oh yes & by the way Steve Bruce has just won the curse of the month award for December

Credit to Southend who actually seem bothered about playing for their shirts.....unlike the useless and gutless tossers who lost to Barnsley tonight. F*ck off Gregory and take the Mafia Godfather Paldini with you too. Wankers.

Ian Evatt has been slagging Gregory off in the last week for not even speaking to him about buying out his contract and moving to Blackpool. He played under him before when he was at Derby so it's not like he didn't know him!!

Killie v Hibs - should be a cracking final. It's either teams for the taking. Killie will probably be regarded as underdogs though, so I hope they win.

Whats the general opinon in Scotland on Gretna? It looks like they are going up again and they seem invincible. I see they have sold Keny Deuchar to Northampton though. What level would Gretna be at in England? Are they good enough for the Scottish Prem? They did well in the cup last year and have a big game at Hibs tomorrow. I suppose that might give us an indication on how good they are.

Gretna have a bit of money behind them so they can afford to pay SPL wages despite being in a lower division. Personally, I dont think they will hack a full season against other SPL teams and the bubble will eventally burst.

As far as comparing them to the English league is concerned, I would put them no higher than mid-table in League One.

And FIFA think England have the worst Fans:

Italian league halted by violence
A fan is led away after violent scenes at the Catania-Palermo match
A supporter is injured during the violence at the Stadio Massimino
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has suspended all matches indefinitely after a policeman was killed at a Serie A match between Catania and Palermo.

The worst English fans are nothing compared to some of these lunatics - they just get the bad name.

Maybe now UEFA will accept that Italian football is rotten and has been for decades and that Heysel wasn't all the fault of Liverpool fans (and pigs might fly!)
