but not sure i like this cover much... chris look a bit podgy and american... neil looks great.... why not have their faces pointed towards us? and closer?

the spacing of the cover seems weird... very empty and unbalanced

it would make a great poster... just doesnt grab me as a cd cover

anyway, just my opinion
I don't normally analyse these things too much but I believe the reason they are looking in that direction is because everything leads your eyes to the text. Neil says in Q that the album is fundamentally PSB and this is what the whole concept is about. In a similar way to Please, because their images are quite small they are all the more eyecatching.

I do like the simplicity in the artwork. I have always enjoyed black and white themes. If I could make any suggestion, perhaps they should have gone with Neil and Chris in Black and White and have the neon possess a little color...kind of like below, perhaps.

If anything keep the white Neon, and just put Neil and Chris in Black and White, and it would add a lot more. To my eye, anyway.

I like it. Why are PSB changing their image again though? They don't need to. All this top hat/bowler hat stuff from Neil. Yeah, it signifies that they are a very British act but I guess it makes them look eccentric (mind you, so did Very and Nightlife).

I don't see any idea here, I don't feel PSB on this cover, it's very bad.
Neon lights, Neil, Chris and 85% of black color.
Who's dead?
I am a fan for 16 years and i thnik it is one of the worst psb covers.

Farrow has lost his talant. He had to stop and look back at the time when he did
Introspective, Was It Worth It, Bilingual, Behaviour and etc...

I hope it is not real cover or... they will change their minds!
Awefull!!!
i TOTALLY agree with you!!!!!!!!!!

Fundamental cover - 1 April '06
The artwork for the new PSB album, "Fundamental", has just been completed by Farrow. The front cover can be seen to the right.

I can't say I like it ... I'd prefer it if N & C werent even in the picture ... that would've worked better. It's probably the least iinteresting cover they've done - bar Disco 2 of course.

Oh well ... it's the music that has to really count.
you could say conventional ... and I could claim intentional

Absolutely no way they chose the title 'Fundamental' because its fundamentally PSB. Even if Neil or Chris told me otherwise, I wouldn't believe them. They chose it because that's one of the few words we've heard again and again since 9/11.

I like the cover. As usual, quite minimal.

Bear in mind that this cover has lost a lot of its quality and clarity, probably due to being emailed several times, and then posted onto the official site.

Remember Q magazine said it's their most sad album. Maybe that's why the cover looks so serious and dark.

It looks a bit like those romantic paintings from the 18th century. I like it a lot.
