Really, it's not THE video that will make "I'm with stupid" become a huge hit. The rhythm of the images makes the song slow. On top of that, only British fans will recognize the two actors. Finally, only PSB fans will get all the jokes. Where are Bush and Blair ???? Sorry...
Bush and Blair? Too obvious and too 2002!

I don't think just British fans will recognise the actors, or indeed care, but that's only half the point.

The official site:

Video exclusives - 13 April '06
The new video for "I'm with Stupid" will get its exclusive first TV play this coming Friday night (14th April) on Channel 4 in the UK at 11.30pm.

The video for the single stars David Walliams and Matt Lucas, who play Pet Shop Boys in two of their most famous video incarnations – “Go West” and “Can You Forgive Her?”. This gave David and Matt the opportunity to wear versions of the famous pointed hats and orange suits of “Can You Forgive Her?”, whilst re-enacting scenes from the video. Similarly, the “Go West” promo is plundered for other scenes in this new video.

Those of you with a 3 mobile contract will be able to see a sneak preview today (Thurs 13th Apr).

I think it's brilliant. Should definately create some interest ahead of its release. It's not just "in-jokes" as we thought, it will appeal to Little Britain fans etc.
