This track has been getting the hardcore rotation in my headphones. It is chilling and is a fantastic opener for the album. From the whispering voices to start the track off, to the absolutely nightmarishly haunting sound of the whistle after the line..."I thought I heard a train" all encompassed around a very dark visual, hypnotizing synth line and unforgiving, foreboding beat. The hidden gem within this album. I have yet to get past this track today, thus, the rest of the album has gotten no play yet today. =)

the track gets sooo good near the end for me. especially when the other higher harmony parts come in. really atmospheric track.unconventional and oddwhich is part of the allure for me.

Well said, it's quite spooky, and it rewards repeat listens..the lyrics are fairly surreal too..
"cellophane in the cemetery".. one of my favorites.

The phrase "asymmetric haircut" sounded familiar, and I finally figured out why. Chris used the term to describe ailee willis in the actually/furtherlistening booklet on "What have i done to deserve this".
"She had an asymmetric haircut. Because it was the Eighties."

I really like this track. Strangly enough I liked the instrumental version from the promo but I think it's soo much better with the vocal's on top. I really like all of those little eerie sounds and the strange imagery used int he lyrics. I also think Neil sounds really good singing it.

The Minimal istrumental is a fake. However, there's a good chance that the Psychological instrumental is real... since the "iinstumental" of this track was released on a white label vinyl promo several weeks ago. However, that album version of Psychological has Neil's vocals.

The song sounds so very Kraftwerk-ish. Especially their first works (Trans Europe Express, Radio-Activity). I love it.

Yes that's what this line reminded me of - Chris and Neil's words about Dusty's haircut!
Great song, great opener, particularly the 'Or is it only your imagination' part. The lyrics reminded me of the nightmare I once had about a train going through a cemetary...
