trance is a music genre and music genres can't ''die''
they can just be more improved
trance is always there, as pop and rock and all other genres are
but there's various kind of trance music
there's hardstyle, progressive, and a little lighter trance
however, it's all trance and why are you so against it?
it's just a music style like any other
PSB have never been bored with one style, they always experiment and it's nice that they did one trance song too (In private)

just the version on Fundamentalism is extended mix, and we'll get original mix on Minimal

I'm not personally against trance, even though I do believe its had its day (which was the mid-late nineties).

I'm simply pointing out the fact that the PSB's have said they are not interested in trance or house anymore (this was in one of their Fundamental interviews), so Blue on Blue is unlikely to be trance.

The only songs they have been involved with recently with trance 'flavours' are all remixes of existing songs. Fact.

Here (extended), HAD (BJ) and IP are ALL remixes.

Here is a PSB's own mix from start to finish, so if "PSB knew trance died in 1998" why did they make it sound like it, and place it on an album? Yawn.

I'm afraid until you can prove IP is a remix no one can really take you very seriously at all. It may be no more of a remix than Fugitive.

Of course IP is a remix, to suggest otherwise is laughable. The original version is quite clearly radically different. It IS a remix. That enough proof for you? Honestly... some people.

Another PSB track that sounds almost like trance is The Squadron, track #14 of the Battleship Potemkin soundtrack.

Mind you: I'm just teasing you a bit. I fully agree with you that Blue On Blue will probably NOT be a trance track. I guess it will be a PSB'ish ballad, like Girls Don't Cry.

Yup, I'm aware who remixed Here, but is is still a remix, which is the point I was making.

Also, that mix is four years old. They said recently that they are no longer interested in trance or house, so this debate about 4 year old songs is rather pointless.

My points were, and remain;

1) They have stated they are no longer interested in house or trance
2) *Excluding remixes*, they have not released a trance influenced song since FYOG in 1999
3) Blue on Blue is therefore highly unlikely to be trance

With regard to the Squadron, we'll agree to disagree on that one. To my ears is very clearly electro rather than trance.

Let's agree to disagree then. I wouldn't label The Squadron 'pure trance', but it has some trancy influences, or at least a trancy feeling, I think.

Now you're trying to claim you've heard the original IP. This is someone who by his own admission on the 'other forum' didn't get to hear Fundamental until long after most other posters had

Are you seriously telling me you didnt know there was an orginal version of IP?
