Actually that is how I have always interpreted this line: The singer used to be (somebody) falling in love with someone who was not (falling in love with him). He was (somebody) getting tired of dreaming of a love that was never requited. Now, however, he is realizing that this time he is in love with someone who loves him back, and hence won't leave him feeling disappointed.

Actually that is how I have always interpreted this line: The singer used to be (somebody) falling in love with someone who was not (falling in love with him). He was (somebody) getting tired of dreaming of a love that was never requited. Or he is still dreaming...
