The charts have been really shit since the time R&B started clogging them up. It's just as bad now and totally unreflective. Three more number ones and Westlife have equalled The Beatles - where's the justice in that? I don't think they even write any of their own material - Brian McFadden seemed to be the only one with any input and he's not great. He wrote a b-side for Girls Aloud a couple of years ago and it was pants.

Another really annoying thing is that Radio 1 has appeared to stop playing the entire Top40 on Sundays. In other words, you only get to listen to what they want you to listen to. It's bad enough that their playlists seem to contain the same artists all the time but to doctor the charts by not playing all the tracks is ridiculous. Sometimes listening to the Top40 is the only way you can hear a record before deciding if you want to buy it. For them to dictate to us like this is wrong.

So, to sum-up:
In my opinion:

1. Radio 1 is a dictatorship which pressures a young audience to buy certain records while discriminating against other releases.

2. Westlife are the scum of the earth and should be executed by that clown dude.

3. I've been ranting too long, sorry.

Absolutley re: all of the above. There being a top 40 was exciting, with all kinds of tussles in the lower reaches (sounds sexier than that should really!)

It's all been shite since PWL split. And the Cheeky Girls didn't make matters any better.
That was when I stopped watching Top of the Pops. (When it was broadcast in the States).

If Andrea Corr happens to be reading this, I still fancy you!
