Verbal wrote:I further asked for you to re-clarify what "THIS" meant, as the way you wrote it means that you feel it is useless to discuss, which is sheer lunacy to say, especially here, on a PSB FORUM.
That's your (wrong) interpretation of my comment. Don't blame me for that. I would never state it's useless to discuss PSB tracks (I would gladly discuss about every single PSB track), I only tried to make clear it's pretty useless to have a massive discussion about whether tracks are truly B-sides or not.
Verbal wrote:What you did there, was you described your opinions, then said that it was useless to discuss, thereby stating that it was ridiculous for there even to be a discussion about the topic, especially now that you, yourself, had given your opinion.
That's - once again - the way YOU see things. In fact, my first contribution, has a helpful message to the topic starter, pointing out the 'Rank the B-sides' topic. If Patrick hadn't written "PSB consider Violence a B-side" I wouldn't even have responded any further. Below is my third post. The only you're so furious about.
To be honest, I think everybody can have his or her own criteria for what you consider singles, B-sides, whatever. Is "Seriously" a single? I say YES, since it was an US single a release and a double A-side in Europe. An other fan may say no. What the heck.
Same with Violence. I consider it a new version of an older album track, others may consider it a B-side. Same with "No Time For Tears". It was a bonus track on a PSB-single, but it was on a different album before. "Positive Role Model" ... only a bonus track on a German single, later released on an album. I could go on and on.
It's pretty useless to have a massive discussion about this.
I did *not* push through my personal opinion. In fact, I gave several examples of songs with a doubtful status, mentioning arguments in favour and against it. I made the two most important sentences of my comment
bold, in order to - once again - stress out what I meant to say, since you don't seem to (be willing to) understand me.
Verbal wrote:In a sense, you were stating that now that you had stated your opinions, no one else's opinions mattered. Which, having read your posts for some time now, is exactly what you do. CONSTANTLY.
This is - once again - your opinion. In fact I did not even make any statements about the status of PSB B-sides. Nor did I say other people's opinions don't matter. I only said it's pretty useless to discuss it, since everybody uses different criteria to determine what's a proper B-side (what's a B-side anyway?) and what isn't.
Verbal wrote:Maybe you should write your book and stop posting here. It IS your attitude. You have a lot more disagreements than most posters on this forum, if not all.
Maybe it is not OUR problem that need fixing, maybe YOU are the problem....
I happen to be a member of a rather
active PSB discussion forum, rather than one that has a PSB discussion section with only 3 topics that got new contributions during the past 5 days... - I'm also a pretty active poster, and I happen to be a rather un-average fan, when it comes to taste.
Those three elements together (active forum, active poster, un-average fan/taste) automatically leads to more disagreements with other users, than some who visits this place every now and then, out of boredom, because there's no activity at his favourite forum... - I'm a member of this place for more than 3 years. I never got any complaints from the mods, or forum other users in private messages, whatsoever. Nor was I banned, nor am I known for constantly shouting rude language or insulting people.
So I'm arrogant enough to think I'm NOT causing any major problems om this forum. And judging from some people's posting behaviour they 'welcome' my contributions, so that they have something to hit at. Perhaps the following rings a bell?

Described as "group's carity single" why it doesn't deserve a proper page?
PSB don't include "Ab Fab" in PopArt CD, don't include "Ab Fab" in PopArt DVD, don't include "Ab Fab" in Catalogue.
Did "Ab Fab" ever exist?
Boy, where are patrick and dVTB when you need them?
Admit it: that's what your here for: looking for sensation and causing a stir. Frankly, I can see why, when there's hardly any activity elsewhere and near all decent PSB discussion (and even the *quality* discussion) takes place here.
But it would look ridiculous if you would post here under your original user name, wouldn't it? Hate me or not, at least I had the guts to admit
in public that I made a wrong decision leaving this forum.
Oh, and one more thing, 'Verbal'...
On 31 October 2006, user
Kirk Mack wrote the following on the Zeus Forum:
Which only means that dVTB, despite his claims of hating this place and no longer being a member, really is, still, a member. He must feel very important being over there and being "the authority" on so many things...hasn't he fought with half the forum by now? One week later followed by this claim:
It appears that dVTB has some "issues".... which lead to a fellow contributor of that
quality forum stating:
Surely all we need now is a DVTB 'suicide' thread to complete the picture.
I can't help thinking, Verbal, that the above comments of Kirk Mack are very similar to the comments you just made about me. Nor can I help *frowning* when you state in the '" Head to Head 18 singles" topic that it feels as if you did this before and that your list looks pretty much the same as the list Kirk Mack posted a long time ago.
Whoever you are, or what your goal on THIS forum is, it's clear to me that you're somebody who is a PSB forum oldbie, who is 100% sure a member of the Zeus Forum (pointed that out some time ago already) and that I'm done talking to you. Bye.
