unlikely is the answer - PSB don't seem to sell that many downloads, video unlikely to get any significant amount of play no matter how good it is, track taken from an album over a year old (which wasn't that succesful in the first place) and the record doesn't sound like any genre which is currently popularHenrik Powers wrote:The thing with "Integral" is : if done right with a great video, a great loads of promo for the single this could be surely bring the boys a top 5 hit.
no?
Still waiting to hear the Adam Freeland, Manhattan Clique and Axwell mixes of Integral.

To get top 5 you need 10000 - 20000 sales. No chance of that. Most people interested in PSB already have Integral on Fundamental or Concrete or Cubism or all three!
Only die-hard fans will buy the single for the extra tracks, so I'm sticking with top 15.
And you say you never believed in luck

Hello! Calvin Harris? Electronic music is very popular in the charts these days... I'm sure it will do well, not just in the UK, but around Europe...PSB don't seem to sell that many downloads, video unlikely to get any significant amount of play no matter how good it is, track taken from an album over a year old (which wasn't that succesful in the first place) and the record doesn't sound like any genre which is currently popular

On wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pet_Shop_Boys_discography) there is written about a Integral release in august like on the Chris Dahl's site that indicates 10 September like release date of the single.

Why are you so sure about that? Disco 3 only made #36 in the UK album charts, despite lots of new material on the album. It's a pretty poor result, compared to PSB studio albums, such as Release and Fundamental. How do you explain this difference?NJTom wrote:I think EMI will soon figure out that a few magazine ads for Disco 4 is a far better way to spend money than releasing another single
If singles weren't a good way to promote an album, why are they still released in dozens every week? If you only want die-hard fans to buy the album, you can just post a message on the official site. If you want to convince non-fans, you need an appealing lead-single.

Integral could probably get new fans ... Minimal and I'm with Stupid were excellent but don't/didn't have the over the top appeal of IntegraldVTB wrote:Why are you so sure about that? A two-week delay for the single release (from 27 August to 10 September) somehow sounds very Parlophone-ish. It would make sense to release the album one week after the single; so the 17th.
The rumours are already floating around for 2-3 weeks now. If they were completely untrue, they certainly would have been denied by now.

Good point, but confirmation would be lovely.dVTB wrote:A two-week delay for the single release (from 27 August to 10 September) somehow sounds very Parlophone-ish. It would make sense to release the album one week after the single; so the 17th.
