Pet Shop Boys Community

Sorry if mentioned, but in the boys early days they went to Germany (its on their first video), erm, there talking to the presenter who mentions Chris's sunglasses, Chris had some individually flip lenses. Chris fliped one up, the presenter said woo, and Neil said and the next one, which didnt sound too good.

Others are of Chris not saying anything when it seems its the only thing that should be done. I remember seeing the boys on GMTV selling Being Boring, it was very early, you could tell Chris would rather be on mount everest than in this yellow studio, he'd probably not had any sleep, hardly said a word, other than a mumble that he likes after show parties

My wife being asked by Chris if she worked for them .......

I don't quite understand such classification anyway. As far as I know, "gay" isn't a musical genre.

I was in London to see The History Boys at the National Theatre, and it coincided with the PopArt signing at HMV on Oxford Street. Having never been to a signing before I went along and stood in the queue with a few hundred others. I didn't have anything prepared to say to either of them. When it was finally my turn, I approached them (with some trepidation) with my copy of PopArt at the ready. First up was Chris, and the first thing that popped into my head was to ask him 'Are you pissed off yet?' Arrgh, what a stupid thing to say. Of course he was ever so polite and replied that he was actually enjoying himself. I felt such a fool. Moving onto Neil, I simply shook his hand and said it was a pleasure to meet him, and he responded in a similar vain. And that was that. I still cringe when I think about it. A few years later I saw Neil coming out of the Baltic art gallery in Gateshead. He was with someone (his sister I'm guessing), but I didn't say anything and suspect I probably wouldn't have even if he'd have been on his own, being conscious of him being 'off duty' and all that. I'm certain he wouldn't have minded, after all I'm not some nutter. I do sort of regret not telling him how much I'd enjoyed Battleship Potemkin in Trafalgar Square a few weeks earlier though. Oh well.

I'm conscious of them being gay, but I don't consider them a 'gay act'. And I don't care either way.

Mine was needing about 5 minutes to take a photo of my friend (hello Becci!) with Neil. It was my first "up close" encounter with him, and I practically lost the ability to stand upright, leave alone pont a camera phone in the right direction with a steady hand. He kept turning away to sign for other people, then looking back as if to say "are you anywhere near ready yet??!" Got a lovely if rather blurry pic of them both, Neil by now with his glasses on and a rather quizzical look, with only a little bit of my finger across the bottom
