You have to appreciate I am actually from Liverpool so I have to put up with a much bitterer brand of Evertonian than you. If I told you that 90% of the local paper's match report on the UEFA Cup Final was actually a rant about how Everton deserved to have been there instead, you might understand why I am sensitive to this sort of thing.
Ok, Danny.
I'm not surprised to hear that about the Post!

Everton are quite similar to Rangers. They set out not to get beat and are very good at it. If they go behind, they struggle. Everton are one of the best organised sides around but really, they don't have any world class players to take them to the next level.

That last sentence is fair.
David Moyes has also been excellent at improving players eg Lescott, Osman, Jagielka, Yakubu. We don't have world class players for obvious reasons - we don't have the resources. I'm very happy to say we continue to go forward. Our record premiership points tally, semi-finalists in the league cup, last 16 in the UEFA Cup and another European qualification are evidence of that.
I don't agree with the bit about setting out not to get beat - not at Goodison anyway, except perhaps against the teams above us. We had handy leads against both Arsenal and Manchester United and came from behind to take a late point against Chelsea. The setting out not to get beat bit is true away from home but that is the case for the majority of premiership teams.
It is also a bit of a truism to say that we struggle to get anything when we go behind. It's obvious that a team's odds of losing go up dramatically when they go behind.

Everton should sack Moyes. He's only got them to fifth in the table and they got knocked out of Europe on penalties so he's obviously a total loser.

Very close to what Undertaker said.
I'm sure you realise that PB and myself were being sarcastic.
I worship the ground DM walks on and genuinely wouldn't swap him for any other manager in the world.

David Moyes has done a great job but if the opportunity arose whereas Wenger or Ferguson were available, you would be a lunatic not to accept it. Not just because of their track record but for the players they can attract. It's very difficult to attract top players to Everton because for some reason they don't have a lot of money and secondly, a club of Everton's stature aren't in a great part of the country. Players that Everton would go for, would usually prefer a London club.

Everton need to back Moyes with some serious cash. Not just one 10 million pound signing every few seasons. They have money. If they haven't got much cash, there has to be some serious mis-management going on.

I wouldn't be a lunatic at all. People like Wenger and Ferguson have achieved highly at other clubs. I doubt they'd have the enthusiasm to start all that again at a club like Everton.
Thanks, but no thanks. Saying I wouldn't swap Moyes for is a very considered opinion and not one I've come to lightly. You'd find many Evertonians would agree.
