He's still on the air? Wow.glennjridge wrote:I watch alot of "howard stern on demand' not for the lesbians per se, but he just happens to have alot of hot women who are lesbians on the show.
not sure if you know who he is. he's kinda like a funny shock radio/TV guy who always talks about sex.
I believe Howard Stern coined the phrase "shock jock".

ROFL!!!!!! That was hilarious, Glenn!!!glennjridge wrote:I always think thats just an extension of wishful thinking.
its almost like a straight female seeing a very goodlooking gay guy and thinking she could just sort of nudge him with great sex and he would fall into straightness.as though he had to be turned on by her hotness.
on the flip side of the coin I imagine gay guys see a good looking straight guy and assume he's surely had feelings for a man.

Kinsey was intensely brilliant, and his study of male sexuality was a best-seller that rocked America in 1948. Gay people weren't shadowy sorts, they where everywhere. It is impossible to understate how seismic his book was.
That said, recent scientific studies dealing with brains-scans about arousal-areas show that women are far more responsive to same-sex stimuli, by an overwhelming degree.
My honest opinion is that the Kinsey scale is outdated. I think by the end of their 20's , men know what they like, and stick with it. The Kinsley scale is misleading : I am gay but can find women attractive, but in reality would never and don't go for it. I honestly don't think men are as flexible as this 60-year-old study implies. Straight men may have occasional sex with another man, but in reality, a true male bisexual is as rare as a unicorn. I sincerely have never met one. Perhaps being bisexual gives a guy the luxury of deception, but that's another issue I guess.
Maybe it's society that forces people to choose, but I think mostly people decide one way or another about what they like by their mid-20's. Male bisexuality -I dunno. Extremely rare in reality. Just mho.

If we're defining bisexuality as being equally attracted to men and women, then I totally agree with you, I think people like that are quite rare. But I know lots of people who could say they are attracted to both but have a definite preference for one or the other.Deschanel wrote: My honest opinion is that the Kinsey scale is outdated. The Kinsey scale only measures what one is attracted to; now, whether one is actually willing to follow through is a different story. This occurs all across the spectrum, in just about everyone. I suspect that many people (particularly men) are more willing to admit to their deep-dark feelings in an anonymous survey setting as opposed to their friends.

I think the equivelent word in america we might use would be "experimenting".Radiophonic wrote:Not always. There are lots of instances where straight men have dabbled.glennjridge wrote:I always think thats just an extension of wishful thinking.
that or "dabbling' to me simply means a young gay male who wants to keep some pretense of being straight by rationalizing in his brain he is only seeing what having sex with a man would be like.but its cool cause I'm really straight!
the only acceptable reason a straight male might dabble is if he was blasted out of his mind on homegrade moonshine and going back to his home he accidentally stumbled drunk inside someone elses house or apartment and gets into bed with someone he thinks is his wife but is actually another dude.

It's actually perfectly acceptable for a man who feels he is straight to have sex with another man. I think it's wrong to suggest any homosexual contact is unacceptable.glennjridge wrote:

of course its not wrong...people can have sex with who they want.
but I dont know why they come up with these distictions or kinsey scales of being gay or straight or Bi if its considered normal for people to move between these distictions. I have a clear idea of my orientation,I assume others do.
I just cant imagine why a straight male would have a need to expriement and have gay sex anymore than I could imagine why a gay male would want to have straight sex unless it was for non sexual reasons.

Oh I can, but this is far too heavy a discussionfor this forum. Just believe me it's quite common.glennjridge wrote: I just cant imagine why a straight male would have a need to expriement and have gay sex anymore than I could imagine why a gay male would want to have straight sex unless it was for non sexual reasons.
