The players, terrible marking? hence the previous poster was actually concentrating on the position of the players also creating an ingenious pun on the word "marketing" which is what the photo is about.

why O why cant we see the PSB in the studio, recording vocals and synth parts. they seem so protective of anyone seeing that.

I remember when they had the questions section on the old official site and I asked neil if he would ever let people watch him record vocals and he said he routinely kicks everyone out of the studio when he does his vocals. chris also does but I know why in his case.

Erm, what's so exciting about seeing people 'in the studio'? Use your imagination: Neil's singing varying between out of tune and more out of tune, Chris lying on a divan and Pete Gleadall running around like a blue-arsed fly. One should beware of letting daylight in upon magic.

Speaking of studio clips, here's another one, # 5, this time Mart
being the protagonist, very funny:

I think Depeche mode are a bit boring.

They have a few good songs though.

DM's current sound is a bit cheesy. I miss Mr. Wilder a lot.

I think Tim Simenon has been the only post '95 producer to try to retain the 'classic DM sound'.

And for the little bits that appeared on youtube, it seems that the next album will be PTA part II.

I always felt DM, in the Wilder days, were a bit like Pink Floyd in the '70s, i.e. very good at covering the limits of their average songwriting with a brilliant attitude at developing new "sounds". Yet when relations between Wilder and the rest of the band got strained, they became progressively more unbalanced towards Dave Gahan's rockcock poses and Gore's monumental lack of sense of humour...I think they're at their best when they sound more humble, as they did lately in their career on "Ultra" and partially on "Exciter". (Compare the tense, but essential, relational scenario in good songs like "Shake the disease" or "Sister of night" with the heavy-handed Tears For Fears pastiches of "Never let me down again" or "Walking in my shoes"). Otherwise to me they just feel overblown and pretentious, without the variety, the grace and the lightness of touch that's always present even on Pet Shop Boys' most OTT stuff.

If you'll forgive for being so rude, those songs sound bugger all like Tears For Fears! More a more stadium-y take on The Cure then anything.

I knew the album had to do with " of the Universe" in its title since the tour had it. Usually their albums always coincided with the tour title. Sounds of the Universe it is and I can't wait to hear from it.
