That was my third trip down to Manchester, and I must say, i've never seen as many scumbags wandering the streets as I did on Thursday. There were some at the entrance to the hotel when I got back who looked like they may like to get up to no good.
Bastard motherf***ing scumbags!

Yes, and it is for that reason that I will never go on a night out in Glasgow.

Tell me about it, I get quite intimidated walking past groups of kids 5 years younger than me.

I'm a wuss

Got my crime number through today, although the letter said the case will be closed due to lack of evidence!
At least I got a replacement railcard sorted, even though it actually expires next month! Still useful to have in the interim!

Sorry to hear about that... what a crap end to your night. At least you're ok and you are getting your things replaced. (I know that's not much consolation, but it's better than nothing anyway). And congrats on the Neil meeting!

Weren't there any CCTV cameras there?

No! I almost died from shock when they told me!

I nearly asked myself at the time if there were cameras. There are plenty of them here. (most of them don't work, but, "ssssh!") So I thought it would be a dead-cert that somewhere like Manchester would be loaded with them.

Firthy mate, really sorry to hear what happened.

hope you get everything sorted soon.
Take care,
Pad.

After the event more like...
This is what I do.
I have four accounts. 1x Current Account (Card 1), 1x Current Account (Card 2) and 1x Visa (£500 max) and 1x Websaver. On the Internet they can all talk to one another.
I tend to use the Visa mostly on the Internet. Then I'm insured against any fraud. If I do use it temporarily, say on a holiday, then it has a £500 limit. If I book flights say and the company goes bust, I am likely covered. Anything spent on this card is usually immediately transfered back from either my Websaver, Card 1 or Card 2.
I use an image of my PC to restore it. So if I suspect a dodgy site I reset that. That limits fraud as the image is completely clean.

The first image is backed up on DVD and then I make a new image from that one, then that one etc. Resetting the PC before I update. This has stopped me so far getting done from Internet fraud. I came up with this idea after being stung twice.
Card 1 is where all my money is paid into. Direct debits come out of this account also.
£400 overdraft limit catches anything I didn't expect - saves £30 (per bounce) + £28 bills.
As I no longer spend on this card, I don't forget something is coming out.
Card 2 is what I spend off. It has no Direct debits and a £200 limit.
I feed this card from Card 1 or my Websaver. Hopefully Card 1 will have a better wage soon.
I can check the balance online or at a cash machine!
My websaver is £1900 and currently living off it. I need a career...
I can transfer to any of my two accounts from this websaver. I want this going up ideally.
My Visa I usually pay off from Card 1 as faster.
So all I need carry is card two. If I need money I can go on the Internet and add some and I have a sensible overdraft. If I lost Card 2 I can max it out and temporarily use Card 1. Card 1 I keep at home along with my Visa in Wallet 2. Wallet 1 has just Card 2 in it really, plus a few cards like the library and Blockbusters.
Note your IMEI down and if you lose your mobile, you can quote this to your provider to block it!

I was thinking about getting two wallets and using a similar system like mole.

It works well, been perfected over the years!
Originally I spent off Card 1 and Card 2 was a second saver/rarely used. It was converted from a former saver to the same as Card 1 (which gave me a card) and it was originally planned as a backup incase I lost Card 1 and had to wait seven days for a new one.
Problem with this method was I would forget about a direct debit and get a bouncing fee when I went close to the limit. So I doubled the overdraft from £200 to £400. Then I suddenly had the brainwave to switch them round and now I spend off Card 2 with my income and bills off Card 1.
Not bounced since because Card 2 doesn't have direct debits and Card 1 only has bills.
I've left the new overdrafts in case of emergency and I need to use Card 1. But my rule is £200 usually. Card 1 has the spare £200 to be double sure of no bouncing fees. I was fed up of them so I looked for a solution to stop direct debits going out v income on 1st of month. It works.

Sorry to hear that Firthy ; well done fellow fans for helping.
Here in Sydney I have seen a huge increase in violence in my life time.
But it's not mugging, it's alcohol aggression. We are getting worse
than Russia.
On the other hand there is a big fuss in India about race hate crime
against Indian students in Melbourne. Although this is a racist country,
(helped by 12 years of conservative government), I think the Indian students
are only getting mugged for money as they are easy targets. Sad.
