Sadly Firthof Forth strikes again on Geowayne's current poll. Instead of ''Cooler than me - is it the new PSB single'' he writes his heading as ''Cooler than me- the new PSB single''. and then ''If I was introducing the Pet Shop Boys to anybody, I'd play them this. It's their new single.''

I think (fellow tired posters who do NOT think it is the new PSB single) we can rest our collective cases right here.

I don't disagree with the points you make about Hurts, Drico. But I do disagree with the points you make about the Posner song. Yes, there is no media comparison betwixt the two artists, like there is with Hurts, and there is certainly no excitement over Posner whereas there is for Hurts (well, not me, but some people here are excited). But again, I hold that the Posner song is EXTREMELY SIMILAR TO THE PRODUCTION AND SOUND OF MANY TRACKS ON YES. I did not make the post thinking it a personal observation only (though it is of course). I thought it was just that most people had not heard this track, so I wanted to make sure everyone knew about it. I didn't post it to create any trouble, to have a laugh, et al. My gf is talking about doing a mashup with Love Etc/Pandy and the Posner song. She hasn't done one before though, nor have I. Could use nathanjays help maybe. Cooler Than Me with no vocals = unheard demo from Yes. I hold by that no matter what anyone on the forum says, and feel it's worth a post, in whichever forum.

Fair enough. Wayne might have to look to password protecting posts if this impersonation happens more often on his mini forum.

We now have the delight of the real FoF hopping on to Wayne's poll forum with 'Disregard this post'!

Well, what did you want me to do? Just let it slide? If I was like some in this forum I'd just assume it was someone here and stick to that story and harrass them about it for the next year. I don't think geowayne needs to do anything different, this shouldn't be a reoccuring problem.

I hate that song with a passion. Nothing PSB about it whatsoever.

I do actually continued to be shocked that anyone can hear "nothing" PSB about it whatsoever. But I do have a question. Do you hate the instrumental with a passion blueswan? If Posner is gone, does it still offend?

It sounds like your fairly typical urban pop which is so popular these days. If you remove Posner and put Neil on it and he sang a different melody then I suppose it would sound like PSB. But the instrumental in itself doesn't suggest that its PSB - it's just a typical modern urban pop record. You might argue that the instrumentals to typical urban pop records don't sound too far removed from some Yes tracks, but that doesn't make them sound typically PSB, it makes them sound typically urban pop.

Most of our songs sound far more PSB, unfortunately.

I don't see nor hear any connection or similarity to PSB.
