I must disagree, because even though I like OMD a lot, I find Liberator a horrendously weak album, by far the band's worst. With some career nadir lyrics too: "heaven is a television left on all day" must be the dullest description of heaven I've ever heard,. It has also dated very badly, since it borrows so much of the Europop of its era. I love English Electric though. Now this is proper OMD, a tight and concise album with no bad track on it. I found HoM too long and uneven: it had its moments like both parts of the title track, but too much fluffy dross that tried to sound current and failed badly. Metroland and Helen Of Troy especially sound like classic OMD singles. The interludes are suitably silly and don't outstay their welcome, so they add to the overall listening experience too.
