Jesus that was dire. If I had to listen to that boring tw@t Phil Neville say one more time "there's plenty of time on the clock" I would have flown over to Brazil and shoved the clock up his arse. He must have said it on 60 mins, 70 mins, 75 mins, 80 mins, 85 mins, and even 87 mins.

Someone tell the England team that they can't shoot from long range to save their lives. That was the difference today vs a very poor Italian team who seemed willing to give the ball away at will. And don't get me started on Rooney. Why do we persist with him?

Thought the SaS played ok but was the only slight takeaway from the game.

England played very well, Italy hasn't so many chances, so I think you don't need to worry. Every team needs to play 2-3 games together to play better.

England were ok, as were the Italians but I got the impression The Italians hada few more gears.

I knew we'd set up full of work horses then bring the youth on but its pointless if youre losing the game. Especially against Italy.

Three strikers started the game last night and not one played a lot inside the penalty box. Welbeck was told to just run after everyone, Rooney was left mid and Sturridge was on the right half the time. Wtf is the point?

Wayne Rooney was his usual bobbins but in his defense, he's out of position. Either play him centrally or not at all.

Could have been a draw but it wasn't. The players did alright but the manager never.

There was something strange that happened yesterday though; when Raheem Sterling shot into the side netting at the beginning of the game, the scoreboard in the corner of the screen actually said 'GOAL' and the scoreline changed to 1-0 to England.

didn't notice that, but I did genuinly think he had scored for a second because of the way the ball came off the rear strut and bulged into the net.

That was the BBC tech team screwing things up. They thought it was in, as did I initially. It's clear that the TV channels have their own mini-scoreboard thingies. ITV's is totally different from the BBC's, so they obviously aren't coming from the host broadcaster.

It was amusing to see how much more eloquent Thierry Henry and even Clarence Seedorf were in their second languages than Robbie Savage is in his first.
