Wuthering Heights? The trailer looks like it's very staged and tinny, to me. But I shouldn't judge prematurely.

But I can judge the Charli xcx music video. I guess it's not totally without merit, but hardly got the warmth and character Kate Bush brought. So tiring to have these painfully modern rehashes of perfectly fine material.

Honest question, which aside from the obvious answer that N&C did not give permission - why on earth isn't Rent on the Saltburn soundtrack album?

Yeah I think they opted out! Months on and that film hasn't exactly resonated, so maybe they were right.

Big Charli fan here, and other than Kate having the hit of the same name, bringing her into this is... barely reasonable. Charli is in her own lane, and obviously, Kate even more so.

But... Kate's song wasn't a movie soundtrack! And it's a signature song, sure, but in my mind, it's its own thing really. Charli did an entire album. I'd place in the category of "not really a studio album but also not really a proper soundtrack" that Madonna's "I'm Breathless" also fits in. I still find the comparison kind of preposterous. Apples and oranges, sure, both are fruit...

I get your point, but people are allowed to compare. Kate's song is iconic to Heights, and it's not unrelated that the film preview/song lacks the warmth and charm people know and love about the source material's culture and canon; but we will wait to see more.
