Serious question - what do you class as an album’s “main single”? Do you not just mean either the one that you like the most, or the one that proves to be the biggest hit? Which was the “main single” of Hotspot?
"Monkey Business".
It was the only one with a proper music video and with performances on TV (twice), full of actors and dancers.
Well I would definitely say Dreamland was the main single from Hotspot, not because it was released first but because the loosely associated tour is called Dreamworld (greatest hits I grant you).
Although tagged as a lyric video I also though the Dreamland video was great and would easily hold up on youtube (or TV if videos are still shown on TV) as a defacto video.
Nonetheless, I get what you mean and are asking. Axis was clearly not the main single from Electric, Vocal probably was, though you could make a case for Love is a Bourgeois Construct as it had b-sides and Vocal only had a billion remixes. Vocal had a video though.
Furthermore, I still think Loneliness for this album would be considered the main single, having b-sides, full blown video etc.

The other option was Business Tour or Monkey Tour.
I'm joking. I see what you mean but I think they choose Dreamworld just because the idea of "world" tour and the "world" of PSB. At the end of the show and before West End Girls in the first leg of the tour the audience could see a little part of a interview to Neil where he talked about creating their own "world".
In fact, Neil says the triumph of PSB it to have created their own world. So Dreamworld works in that way.

It’s not called Dreamworld.

I was replying to Nickname, who from the above is arguing that they named the tour after the track “Dreamworld” because it had the word world in it. Which it doesn’t.

If I were a betting man, I'd think the second single might be 'Feel'... this is based on nothing in particular, except the very universal / generic quality of the title, and the fact that it wasn't mentioned in the Guardian piece - so possibly embargoed for maximum impact for a single release?
I'm guessing any further single / teaser track release will come towards the end of March...

Tom Stephan has just confirmed to me on Instagram that his remix of Party in the Blitz will be an extra track on the next single 'out soon'.
That's what I call "main single" ("lead single"), the one that is released more closest to the album's release date and is supposed to be the most important for selling records. It's arguably the best track on the album.

"Feel" is precisely the kind of George Michael title I thought they would avoid. Makes me think it might be about Harvey Winestain

So if we follow your logic, What Have I Done…. was the best track on Actually, in YOUR opinion.

Maybe that was the intention with Deserve This, the main hit from Actually. It almost went to nr 1 as well. I'd say Nickname is on to something. We need to properly build theory here.
