There are plenty of songs I love or rather have loved but don't really bother to listen to because I've already listened to them enough in life. Sometimes the memory of a song is not what you actually hear when you listen to it again.
As for instance the other day, Always on my mind came up on the radio while I was driving. It's one of those songs I don't really listen to because, well, I heard it sooooo many times over the years. But I had to stop and park the car because I finally realised why it's a masterpiece (the production PSB put on it).

I don't really listen to Please at all but I do put on the FL disc 1984-1986. I think I feel that PSB was better in 1985 (In The Night, A Man Could, West End girls, Why don't we NYC-mix, first Opportunities) than they were in the spring of '86. Then they got better again later in '86 with Suburbia/Paninaro and Disco.

I mostly play the early stuff if I'm listening to PSB and can play those albums right through. Been enjoying revisiting some of the later stuff in that thread - if I were playing some of the later Further Listening albums, I'd probably skip the tracks I actively dislike such as In Denial but there is also a morbid curiosity in listening to them too.

Always found Beautiful People really dull and jarring on a strong album. At least Wedding in Berlin is the last track.

I did find I listened to In Private with Elton through a few times due to that thread, just to try to understand how it could be so teeth grindingly awful

I don’t think I’ve listened to Actually in its entirety, this century. It was played to death in 1987-1988 etc but to have actually put it on, start with One More Chance and end with Kings Cross? Nah. Not in about 30 years.

I don't see the point of playlists, I will consciously put CD or vinyl on and listen as N&C intended, aside from occasionally previewing a new track via YouTube. I'll grind through the whole album or CD single, so this is really Top 10 tracks I don't much care for:

Take out one song and that's a great playlist.

What keeps mankind alive.... I actually started to like it. Probably because the song itself is part of common european culture. The fact that PSB had a stab at it already in the late 80's is fascination.
Give st. a Chance is a masterpiece.
With Adrenaline they pushed the number of bonus tracks from Nonetheless too far. It's a track that does best on an FL disc
WiB is an atrocity.

Now if I could listen to the other 3 tracks as instrumentals I might amend the list?
