A red letter day would, IMO , have been a better single had it been released as it's original production. Saying this peaking at 9 is great. I think it was the sound of the choir which makes A red letter day stand out as the best track on Bilingual. In the single version i don't think you can hear the choir enhancing the powerful chords. Neil & Chris certainly know how to lift a song with their choice of chords.
I think the Russian choir was a great idea. As was the idea of releasing a RED vinyl. Release tour version of A red letter day was awsome, better than Motiv8!
No choir in that version, just guitars..different.

I absolutely agree with Actually - A red letter day is best in its album version and for me is the standout on Bilingual. It's one of three songs I have requested to be played at my funeral - that's how much I like it. The 'you might sneer' stuff does very marginally detract from it, but the intro, chorus and outro are untoppable.
