Yeah, I see your point but they have to disseminate somehow. Radio 4 & Classic FM are possibly the most relevant places. I think the whole project is greatly reduced, in terms of marketing, by not accompanying the movie with the soundtrack release. And I still don't quite get the Tennant/Lowe thing.

Maybe they are looking to market the CD to audiences that might be interested in the Dresdner Sinfoniker, Jonathan Stockhammer & Torsten Rasch influence? I mean a large proportion of the soundtrack is pretty much classical, so I'm sure a few open-minded buyers of classical cds might have a vague interest. And it is on the EMI Classics section of the label, so it might not be deemed too much of a curious tactic to market it within popular classical outputs.

If it is in Classics section is it eligible to chart in the mainstream pop charts (considering that it will chart)?

Maybe it is anticipated that some people will buy it after attending the shows, and some may buy it out of curiosity after listening to one of the radio stations you mention. It should sound like an interesting project to someone who takes an active, record-buying interest in modern music. I'm sure they'll sell a respectable amount of CDs, EMI Classics wouldn't get involved if they didn't think it likely. They will only be anticipating small volumes of sales as it's a bit of a niche.

Hearing the interview has made me look forward to the weekend even more. I'm spending Saturday and Sunday sightseeing in Berlin as it's my first time there, then the concert is on Sunday night which is perfect. Me and my friend are staying in a great little hotel with an art gallery in it, right in the centre of town.

I thorougly enjoyed the experience at Trafalgar Square and cannot understand people's aggresively negative attitude to this interesting project. If anybody from EMI Classics read this forum, they'd just give up, I think. As would Neil and Chris. So it's lucky they don't.

Harry, I enjoyed Potemkin too.

As a one off, it was special, and I ahve fond memories of the event last year.

But now they seem to have taken it beyond that, milking it for more than its worth. It isnt THAT good, it more of a curiosity than anything, why they have decided to tour the world with it I've no idea. Its pure self-indulgence.
