Went to the sea several times for sailing, worked in the garden (I try to grow vegetables
which is new to me), preparing two exhibitions, one is about my still lifes and one's pain-
tings & poems.

Been celebrating the Diamond Jubilee.

Looking forward to sailing to Heligoland for a few days with a friend.

I went to the garden plot and came back with a courgette. I bet
it was invented in Germany, Ruhr area, called 'Schrebergarten',
dialect 'Schräbbergachten'.

However, the courgette was fine with other vegetables and rice.

Trying to clean up around the apartment. Really let things get messy this last month.

Ah, I'm reading an article about Marxism and how it may or may not combine with phenomenology. It's in the Phenomenological Sociology book from the early 70's that is not very impressive for being one of the main books on the topic.

is this a book abot neo marxism? name of book and author please.

I'm going back to Marxism Festival today, there is a debate on the use of post structural and post modern ideas in marxism on a personal level i like the idea of post structuralism in the arts, as for being a viable political movement it's a no no. I remember having a debate with an art teacher friend of mine who is a vehement post modernist of mine who was extoling the virtues of Wittgenstein and then Lyotard's 'Language Games' and how these concepts open up a space for political change. Whilst I can see the worth of such theories they are limited in the sense that that there is (to some extent) a material objective reality that exists outside of language that constrains and directs social action.

It's not a book worth exploring but it's Phenomenological Sociology: Issues and Applications by George Psathas

Except for the last article, it has nothing to do with Marxism, and is a generally warmed over intro to the field. It's sad that they couldn't come up with more original work given the topic, because I'm actually extremely interested in this field.

oh, i see. i'm revisiting the work of psychologist Carl Jung at the mo as I have to teach the philsophy of religion from September as part of a wider religious studies A level that i am setting up. I think I prefer Jung to Freud actually.

Yesterday at Marxism 2012 was a bit of a wash out in terms of the post structuralist debate as the leader didn't appear to know much about it and was barely able to give a marxist critique of it. After that I saw the Irish journalist Eamon Mc Cann speak about an irish republican who, on her deathbead, has been interred since 2009 without charge, all for holding a piece of paper at a 1916 commemoration ceremony - Marian Price, check her out.

Going back today, there is a debate on Edward Said and his thoughts on Orientalism.

Went to see the Hundertwasser train station in Uelzen today, it was quite nice and interesting.





Oh and looks like I might get involved into a group exhibition in Berlin, they want me there,
