I'm sure Andy had his raisins for doing the interview.

Surelly no sane person could believe that? Maybe the anti-retrovirals are addling his brain.
Someone should point out to him that you get an outstanding contribution to music award for making an outstanding contribution to music. Dressing up in a dress and doing karaoke Abba doesn't quite cut it.

That's true. I've never heard anyone cite Erasure as an influence, compared with many citing PSB.
They are the also-rans of pop duos.

No one will believe it but he's probably seen the amount of publicity that surrounds it and that 6 year old albums can get back in the charts. They need a sales boost big time. 15,000 copies sold of a brand new hits package is bad news. Hardly any deluxe editions sold, so they wont be far off from running at a loss.

It's a mistake to try and propagate the PSB/Erasure feud, nobody cares about that outside of serious fans of either band; it wont help sales at all.

You think they're worse than Hoddle and Waddle?

Definately. Don't diss Diamond Lights

You're right actually, Diamond Lights is class, and Chris Waddle did a lot to invigorate the fledgling news station Channel 9.

Same old same old, Undertaker obsessed with sales as usual and suddenly Erasure are crap because they only sold 15,000 copies or whatever of their album.
"Yes" will not sell as much as many, many pop acts around at the moment but does that mean that it is instantly crap because of it?
Sorry but it is complete madness to judge their whole career on this greatest hits release but if it makes you feel better then good luck to you. I bet people don't have the same attitude when a PSB album "flops".
I think what Andy Bell is saying is that there are a lot of benefits in being part of one of the major labels, I don't think anybody could doubt that but obviously they will in this particular case because we are talking about Erasure here! Well done for being so clever everybody!
People are generally embarassed to admit they like Erasure, it used to be the same with PSB but that has changed a bit the last few years, I don't know why but it has. Perhaps the Little Britain video and Madonna remix? Or are people going to claim that was never the case!
I honestly have no idea why so many people would have so many personal issues with a pop star they don't even know! Fine you don't like the Abba ep but does that give anybody a reason to attack somebody they don't know for no better reason than the fact that you think PSB are better than Erasure?
Some people have some very bizzare atitudes towards music but I prefer to let my ears do the talking above units sold. Makes more sense to me.
Just because Neil and Chris don't like Erasure doesn't mean people have to behave like arse lickers and have a go whenever given the chance. Makes me laugh and is pretty dumb to be honest!

Please show me where i said they were crap because of piss poor sales. If you can't, it might be best to keep quiet because you are beginning to look like an idiot with all these accusations.

Read above.
Also, 'Yes' wont sell millions but it will sell enough. Nobody has claimed that it will be a million seller. It might be wise to read posts before you reply.

I get the impression he is a bit jealous and envious. In every interview, he seems to go on about being hard done to or claiming everyone has an advantage.

Things that haven' t been said!!!!
You have mentioned 15,000 sales over and over again!!!
Oh and Yes will sell enough? Enough to pass your limit on whether a record is any good or not or enough to make sure the next Erasure album could never get near!!!! Could you not like Yes if it didn't sell well?
So you get the impression Andy is Jealous! Grow up man! I suppose PSB are Jealous of U2 or Girls Aloud or whatever!
You get off on the strangest things!
So I argue about things not said! Sorry but you know as well as I do exactly what you are getting at in what you say! And lets be fair I think that no matter what Andy Bell says it will be ripped apart by yourself and most on this board! And of course Neil and Chris couldn't put a word wrong! Hilarious!

Yeah, i know and they are very poor sales but i didn't say they were crap because of those sales. Where did you read that?

Again, no one has said that if Yes sold poorly, that it would be a shit record. Nobody at all.

Yeah i do. Although not in a malicious way but i'm right about all these interviews. They are all based on the same thing. ''They got that because of this.'' ''We didn't get it and it's not fair''
JSDOUVRES wrote:

Because the bloke is a grade 1 idiot. If you say something about delibratly contracting a killer disease and going on about it being ''a touchsone of being gay'' You deserve what you get. I believe Bell lost hell of a lot of respect because of that nd to be fair, it's justified. now he just seems to have a bee in his bonnet about everything.
JSDOUVRES wrote:

Whats this got to do with Neil and Chris? Seeing as your brought it up though, i think members of this forum always give an honest opinion about PSB. If they don't like something, they say it. There is no sugar coating on this forum. I find the opinions very honest.

Rubbish, you know exactly why you keep mentioning the sales figures, sorry but we are not all fools here!
And as for this Andy Bell crap, well so he apparently said something stupid, Oh my God does that make him human!!!! I hope Neil or Chris never do that or you may suddenly dislike their music!!
Get over it and try and enjoy the music! Or is it hard to listen without telling yourself over and over, oh this guy said blah blah blah! You don't even know him ffs, although you'd like to think you did! No matter what Bell says people are just looking to rip it apart and anything can be taken out of context without problem when you search for it! Just like the HIV interview! I have heard lots of different accounts of what he apparently said and they always seem to be different! Strange that!
No sugar coating on this forum!!!! You're having a laugh!!!!
