This is completely wrong. I've posted a long list of people citing Erasure as an influence. Plus, on that other band's forum, there is a thread where many people have interviews of many other artists citing Erasure as an influence.
Yes, they do sell less than what they deserve to, but so do the Pet Shop Boys.
I love how much attention Erasure get on this forum.
Oh yeah, and Danny C (or Kirkland or whatever you go by), some of your language is entirely disrespectful. I could repeatedly allude to a lot of what Chris looks like and all the HIV rumours surrounding him, etc., but I wouldn't stoop to levels like those. Bravo to you, as well, for your classy discourse. You certainly make this forum proud.

This video was brought to my attention, and it is a perfect document (one of many) why Erasure have always been a superior pop group. Other than simply writing better pop songs, they can do something that PSB have never been able to do - namely, to perform them live. It's mandatory for a band to be able to pull off their songs in a live setting to at least a minimal, non-risible level. Without all the pomp surrounding the band, it's just Neil's voice, and although I love PSB for their studio work, I can't get over the voice ever.

Realistically, it sways from poor to embarrassing to just barely satisfactory.
It's not enough.
Thankfully, their studio work often does shine (like the co-written "All Over The World"), and this keeps me a fan.

You say they're no good live based on one sub-par live performance!

No. I've seen a few. Including this other one:

With you claiming to be a massive fan and owning numerous releases, i find it rather odd that all you can refer to is a few youtube clips. I would have thought with your claimed love for the band, you would have seen one of their concerts. Then again, maybe you have and a few youtube clips is all you have to go on.
No band ever will be able to put on a show like 'Performance'. No band would get anywhere near that level of entertainment.
Last time i saw Erasure live, the set was falling to pieces and their were all kinds of greasy hand prints on the lights etc. It was more amateurish than a school play set up. Should we tarnish every Erasure concert because of that? You seem to be doing based on two YouTube clips

You are correct on one point. I have only seen about three or four dozen Youtube clips, and some other performance clips on other sites (in addition to watching "Performance"). You only have to see around half a dozen complete train-wrecks (live performance-wise) to get the grand picture.
One place where you are
absolutely wrong is about "Performance." Unfortunately for you, "Phantasmagorical Entertainment" urinates on every single pop group tour in pop history. A dozen costume changes, so many different sets, and two weeks sold out at the Manchester Apollo, just to name a few things. It doesn't hurt that I love pretty much every single song. Let's not even compare voices - it's a moot point. One can't sing without the aid of massive studio enhancements (hence all of your expensive studio talk earlier on), and one has an actual set of pipes. Don't even try.
Having said all that, I would love to see PSB live because I love a lot of their songs and I know they have great set designs. Although I would prefer, musically, to play their songs in my car than hear them performed live.

Awwwww.

How very sad. Some "newbie" at the Erasure forum is complaining that people are being disruptive on one of the PSB threads on there and on this forum here, by posting one or two embarrassing Youtube clips of PSB.
Of course, they don't mind rummaging through this thread (and the entire forum here, for that matter), having to read unwarranted attacks on Andy working with his partner in a bakery, Andy "deserving death" because of withdrawn HIV comments, insults about Andy performing on a cruise ship, Vince sounding like he's using only one tinny plink-plonk synth, how jealous Erasure are, how they are also-rans, how they've run out of ideas, how the last half-dozen albums are crap, etc.
No, of course, it's far worse posting a couple of Youtube clips of PSB.

Now then weirdo. It seems you haven't learnt your lessons about obsessing over me in your signatures. I've just been told by someone that your signature
''Aided Apesova'' is an anagram of
''Adios Ape Dave''
Whats all that about?

At least i don't have a rabbit you can boil
*runs and locks all the doors*

Yes. If it makes you feel better in your head by pedantically cutting up my words and recreating "a new reality", then whatever works for you. Too bad so sad.

You are obsessed with going on about other forums

. Seeing as you know whats going on in other forums, i'm sure you would have read the onslaught you got on the proboards PSB forum.
