Garbage. We were in with a chance of winning 3 cup competitions and as soon as we come up against good opposition, we go hiding. Jol is tactically clueless in big games and Jenas must have a 'must play if fit' clause in his contract.

He's some player is Messi. Probably needs to get away from the ego's at Barca to carry on improving. Although i think Barcelona will have a huge clearout in the summer.

Really poor. Don't know whats gone wrong at Leeds. On paper, they stil lhave a good side.
Had a nice little bet on Sunderland last night. A fiver on 3-2 at 25/1.
Got stitched up today though. I had another fiver on Man Utd to win 3-2.
Carlos Edwards is a little bit good, isn't he!

But a bloody excellent day for Sunderland and Birmingham today!
I really cannot believe how were were about 12th at Xmas and promoted in April.
All credit to the Players, Manager and Chairman and what is quite a remarkable achievement.

Yes, congratulations to Sunderland. Definitely the best footballing side in The Championship so you deserved to go up. I reckon you'll more than hold your own in the Premiership too.
Derby really should be joining Sunderland in the automatic places, as I rate them higher than the more industrious Birmingham, but for some reason they lost form at the vital time. They should still triumph in the play-offs, though.
Southend are back in League 1 and we only have ourselves to blame for that really. Our home form was shocking throughout the season and our form against fellow strugglers was equally bad. Ultimately we lacked the necessary quality and depth in our squad to compete. Consolidation will be the realistic aim next season and then hopefully we can mount another promotion challenge back to The Championship in the near future, particularly as we have a new stadium in the pipeline, albeit one delayed by Ruth Kelly.

I don't know you know. It's a peculiarity of the playoff system that it's not the teams who are the best who triumph, but the teams who have the best form.
Very often a team who are in the promotion running all season and slump late on to finish third (eg Derby this year) lose out to a team who have a late surge of form, scrape into the top 6, and carry that momentum into the playoffs.

The form team are probably Southampton. Although none of the teams currently in play off positions are anywhere near good enough for the Prem.
I'd say West Brom have the best squad but under achieve. Derby look tired and Wolves are too easy to beat. I think West Brom will go up.
League One should be a formality for Forest but like WBA, they don't perform often enough. Yeovil win a lot of home games by the odd goal. Blackpool have terrific form and it's either Oldham or Swansea. Oldham are too inconsistent but Swansea are on a role. I have to go for Forest though (reluctantly)
League 2 is still all to play for. MK Dons are the only side in the play offs mathmatically but could still snatch third. I'd go for Bristol Rovers though, if they get in.

I still recall the day Sunderland lost to Gillingham on away goals and were relegated to the old Third Division some 20 years ago.
We got a new manager, Denis Smith, and a 20 goal striker, Marco Gabbiadini, who teamed up with Eric Gates and they fired us back up in one season.
Someone sent a text to Sky Fan Zone today that Leeds will "have some fun" in Div 1. Just think of all the grounds you thought you would never go to you can now go to, like Doncaster and Cheltenham!!!
Think positive!
On that note, it is hard to believe that Scunthorpe are actually in a league higher than Leeds.
Oh, and wont you be in the 1st Round of the FA Cup and the Johnstones Paint Trophy!!

I'd say Forest are slight favourites as they might have it when it matters. Saying that, nobody will get near Blackpool if we maintain current form and our record against the top teams is amazing. We battered Forest at their place and made Scunthorpe look like a non-league outfit on Saturday. This is the best Blackpool team i've seen and with Hoolahan and Parker we are deadly on the break. The only reason we aren't going up automatically is down to our poor start and record against the relegated teams (we took 1 point off Chesterfield, Brentford and Rotherham!).
