Yes, it’s holding on well! Sales around 600 this week.
I like to think of it as home...

I had a go at making a version with the extra verse using the new instrumentals https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQI_VobfZAUChrisLove wrote: Nice ideas but i wish the song was a little longer that additional verse from the demo would make this song more varied. Can somebody try to mix that electronic part from the demo to the final version ? We would see how it would sound.
That's brilliant, good job!herts101 wrote: Mon 21 Oct 2024, 9:13 pmI had a go at making a version with the extra verse using the new instrumentals https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQI_VobfZAUChrisLove wrote: Nice ideas but i wish the song was a little longer that additional verse from the demo would make this song more varied. I made a mix that combines the strings into the demo.negative_0ne wrote: Thu 20 Jun 2024, 11:15 ami'm sure someone will try it. but i'm not into the song or the demo version.Gabby wrote: Wed 19 Jun 2024, 1:18 pmNot that I have the means or ability, but surely AI could be fed the original track and the demo and add that verse in to the original version? Maybe someone with good mixing skills though could do a better ( and more thorough) job too...got to be possible.ChrisLove wrote: Wed 19 Jun 2024, 10:50 am

so i'm not that motivated.
it's a lot easier to extend it. which i've already done, and also make an instrumental.

Wrong thread!?lalolalo wrote: Thu 07 Nov 2024, 1:51 pm When listening to All the young dudes, are you also tempted to go "Man you should have seen us on the way to Venus walking on the milky way..."

Yup, as both songs start off with more or less the same descending chord progression before Dudes goes a bit more complex. PSB have also used the descending chord progression in plenty of their own songs, including A New Bohemia and I Get Along. In fact, I think Neil said that I Get Along sounded like Mott The Hoople at the time...lalolalo wrote: Thu 07 Nov 2024, 1:51 pm When listening to All the young dudes, are you also tempted to go "Man you should have seen us on the way to Venus walking on the milky way..."

I've just been reading about descending chord progressions as have been making Spotify playlists and sometimes it's fun to combine songs with similar structures and/or in the same key. Interesting!ea39 wrote: Thu 07 Nov 2024, 2:21 pmYup, as both songs start off with more or less the same descending chord progression before Dudes goes a bit more complex. P.S. Yes, wrong thread...![]()
Nice! Off the top of my head, these PSB songs have a major key descending chord structure - usually in the chorus:I've just been reading about descending chord progressions as have been making Spotify playlists and sometimes it's fun to combine songs with similar structures and/or in the same key. Excellent - thanks!ea39 wrote: Fri 08 Nov 2024, 1:44 pmNice! A new bohemia
One in a million
Shameless
The chorus of To speak is a sin (whereas the verse uses a minor key descending chromatic chord progression)
I wouldn't normally do...
Hey, headmaster
I get along
London
The "waiting..." part of Hit and miss
The survivors
Winner (more or less)
The sound of the atom splitting (only joking)
Go west is also very similar, using Pachelbel's Canon. I think they used that for Call me old fashioned, too. A red letter day is also similar...
