Try's to subtly evade the fact he's happy to sickeningly attack PSB.pulse wrote:Patrick Bateman wrote:![]()

Truthfully, I would say that PSB is one of the greatest pop bands there ever will be. It may not be apparent from the bickering conversations here that often goad me into attack mode, but I have stuck up for them in many situations (amongst other pop fans, and mostly rock fans) and will continue to do so. The songs are, for the most part, meticulously crafted, the lyrics are often spectacular, and the melodies (as found on a few of even the latest leaked songs) are great.
Just because Erasure are the Olympians of pop, doesn't mean I don't frequently award the silver and bronze medal to PSB in many categories.

Nobody deserves death for their opinion. Sorry, if you feel the other way.Undertaker wrote:Maybe it was the fact that whoever said that about Andy Bell, finds what he said disgusting?
Bell is (well was) a big name in music and he comes out with a statement like that? There are people dying from this terrible disease and suffering daily. There are people in the third world who are born HIV positive, who never get any medication whatsoever and suffer a painful death. Yet you get someone glorifying contracting it!! It's disgusting behaviour.
I'm not buying this crap about retracting what he said. Whether he did or not is irrelevant. He said it, knowing exactly what he was saying.
No, i don't wish Bell to die for his opinion. I've not said that at all. I have no respect for him, though.pulse wrote:

No, I'm starting to feel the same way.dVTB wrote:I always liked Erasure. But because of the ongoing and useless Erasure vs PSB debate, I'm starting to develop a certain kind of dislike. I wonder if I'm the only PSB fan with this experience.
I agree with that too.dVTB wrote:I don't really understand what Erasure fans are looking for. Why do they constantly have to measure the achievements and output of their favourite band with everything Pet Shop Boys do? Let Erasure be Erasure (enjoy them when/while you can), let Pet Shop Boys be Pet Shop Boys.
I've read that on both sides and it's something I don't really get. Bar being gang-raped by an army of Erasure fans whilst Pop! is on a continuous loop with Andy Bell chanting 'he's the one, he's the one' in the background, there's nothing really thats going to be sway me from liking Erasure; least of all the petty squabbling of the online community.DJ_Couture wrote:No, I'm starting to feel the same way.dVTB wrote:I always liked Erasure. Oh how I appreciate you...how worthy your scorn is, how grateful we arepulse wrote:.

Reality and fantasy, those tongues. Fundamental quite clearly was considered a "good album that ... warranted further investment in the band in any promotional/production" arena as proven by the budget (and critical acclaim) supporting a Xenomania production and a promotional backing Erasure could only dream of. It's not really open to debate no matter where you fall in the PSB vs Erasure spectrum.pulse wrote:If you think albums like Fundamental, Release, and Nightlife are good albums that have warranted further investment in the band in *any* promotional/production arena, then you and I may as well be speaking two different tongues.
Fundamental (or it's sales, or lack thereof) didn't have anything to do with Xenomania producing the follow-up. For me, it's horribly boring and uninspired - a bad album, in my opinion.patrick wrote:Reality and fantasy, those tongues.
