I still have to figure out some things before I can open this massive topic.

Let's talk about the first group of 'dubious' tracks: Friendly Fire, No Time For Tears, In Private and Girls & Boys (live). - I suggest either to include ALL these tracks, or NONE.

Difficult is Positive Role Model... I'm still in doubt about that one. It was *only* a B-side on a German cd-single. In the Rank The Singles topic, I did *not* include To Step Aside, which was only an AA-side in the USA. I also did *not* include Break 4 Love, a US-single only. Which suggests I should treat it as a B-side now.

Another thing to figure out, is how to deal with the fact that some people don't know all songs. Let's say - for instance - that somebody doesn't know Blue On Blue and can't vote for it. How should I calculate the votes in the end? I have several options.

For people who fill in the full list, the #1 song will get 63 points, the #2 song gets 62... and so on. But what if somebody doesn't know five B-sides? Should I give the #1 song 63 points and so on? Should I give it 58 points? (Since the person fills in only 58 songs). How should I calculate the total result? Should I take the average, or total vote? It's all very confusing and way more difficult than the Rank The Singles topic, since everybody knows those songs...

Suggestions are welcome. Depending on how fast I get them, I can open the topic either tonight or on Sunday (since I'm busy on Saturday).

Yeah, all that sounds good. If someone doesn't bother ranking them all, score them at your own discretion. Given the complexities, I see no other way.

To confuse things even more... yes, No Time For Tears is an album track. But it's not a Pet Shop Boys album track. It is however, a Pet Shop Boys b-side!

I don't know which copy of the Battleship Potemkin soundtrack you own, but on mine it reads "performed by PET SHOP BOYS and Dresdner Sinfoniker"

If the Bangladeshi Symphonic Orchestra record an "Essential Works of Mozart" CD full of songs, you'd find it under M for Mozart, not B for Bangladeshi.

Likewise, Battleship Potemkin is the works of Tennant/Lowe, performed by Pet Shop Boys and Dresdner Sinfoniker.

nah it is a pet shop boys album it was said once on the Official site, however they realeased as Tennant / lowe to keep with the tone!
Hence why you can find it under PSB album on the offficail site and not under collaborations or anything like that!

Girls and boys among other live tracks you cant really include eitrher as they were just live performances, if you include girls and boys then you have to include all live tracks which were bsides i.e Love comes quickly...that would be confusing...

i would keep break 4 love as most people didnt hear it until was released as bside and only own it as bside.

But Girls and Boys is on the Japanese version of Alternative, a bsides collection

No, but considering that the recording of Girls and Boys (Live) is the only version we have AND it was a Bside, I think we should include it, whereas whoever mentioned Fugitive, sorry but this is an album track, albeit on a bonus CD (thats like inlcuding Generic Jingle)

No, but considering that the recording of Girls and Boys (Live) is the only version we have AND it was a Bside, I think we should include it, whereas whoever mentioned Fugitive, sorry but this is an album track, albeit on a bonus CD (thats like inlcuding Generic Jingle)

As for Fugitive, Neil has said it will be a b-side for a/next single. I would include it.
