When I saw this topic for the first time, I thought to myself "One more prayer about Integral' as a 4th single". Isn't my obsession? :D It's not the best song from Fundamental, but it's just cry to our ears "Release me!". Hope, EMI have enough ears.
"I think it’s an amazingly good album, I’ve got to be honest with you. It’s one of the albums I feel most proud of. But for people who don’t really know us, and have a sort of an idea about us, ‘Electric’ is more what the Pet Shop Boys are meant to be."
(Neil Tennant, speaking about "Elysium" on the eve of "Electric" release.)

I don't understand the appeal of Integral one bit. The music is clunky and dated, the lyrics heavy-handed. At best it sounds like the PSB of 2006 desperately trying to be the PSB of 1986. Anybody who thinks it could be a hit single is crazy. I doubt it would crack the top 30 given their current form. I don't even know why they put it on Fundamental, given that they had far better tracks (Bright Young Things, Girls Don't Cry, Party Song) lying about. But then they always condemn their best tracks to b-side obscurity, don't they?

Say NO to Integral!
