I can check what the Russian text means on Monday because I have a French course with some Russian's (very nice people by the way!)
Parkol don't worry we know Russia is not a terrible place and has many qualities but attitudes like yours when it comes to things like this are just bizarre and deserve the swift and hard response they get. Sorry about that but that's the way it goes.
Why is it that when people discuss things like this about a certain country then certain people native to that country suddenly look upon it as a complete attack of their nation in every possible respect when in fact it is about a specific topic!?
I would just say that Russia is a very large and powerful country and basic human rights are being broken in this respect which very much merits discussion. I have to say that some of the comments from Parkol don't help the cause very much and don't give me any confidence in people's attitudes on such matters.
I mean to say that people don't need to be gay in Russia because their are so many beautiful women is just so deluded it is unbelievable and if it was meant as some kind of joke then it is just sick.

Russia has 2 potential enemies: China and U.S., but not U.K. or Czeck or... Norway or Sweden.
Russia don't take U.K. siriously as a war enemy, it's not bad or good, it's truth.
yes, politic, football, sport or... culture but Russia never look at U.K. as we look at China. Understand?
China - yes, U.S - yes, we were always "good friends", but not UK or Poland or... Hungary.

I tell you it as a guy who have been to places that you will never find in any scene-fiction movie.

My remark about personal attacks was directed at the people who made intemperate attacks on you. While an isolated out-of-character personal insult may get somebody a ban on the Russian fora you frequent, I don't tend to ban people who let frustration get the better of them in a one-off and momentary fit of pique. However, if you think Russians are treated differently to Dutch people and Britons, you're welcome to PM me with your concerns. I'm sure Moscow's gays would sympathise with your plight as it seems that they're well used to getting different treatment from the authorities too...

I hinted at that in my post, but perhaps I didn't make it clear enough. Needless to say, Parkol hasn't graced us with a translation. We won't tolerate insults or derogatory comments toward other forum users deliberately hidden in foreign language, so if that has happened in this instance then I ask Parkol to be aware that any repeat will be viewed in a very dim light indeed.

We don't need to ask him. It doesn't matter. People don't suddenly break into their mother tongue on an English-language forum to ask somebody who has just insulted them how their father is or to pass on their regards. Therefore, it's irrelevant. Now, let's try to move on, eh?
